Hi,

Thanks to everyone who has helped me and with the vast resources on PS and this forum, I have learned much about diamonds. It's now decision time.

Please help me decide between these 2 diamonds. The first one is from BN, only an in-house photo available. I forgot the exact price, mid $12K Canadian. The second one is from JA. Waiting for an Ideal Scope image. (I can't find the diamond photo online anymore - forgot to save item #, duh! but thankfully on hold pending the IS image) Price mid $11K Canadian. Should I be concerned that the date of the GIA report was from February 16 2012, ie the diamond hasn't been sold in over a year since grading?

Many thanks!

Any suggestion? Still waiting for Ideal Scope image from JA but my hold on the BN diamond expires in 48 hrs. Thanks!

I assume #2 is less expensive? A VS1 is going to be a gorgeous totally, 100% eye clean diamond. I don't see the point of paying more money for a VVS1 unless you really want super high clarity. Based on the specs (#1 has a medium fluorescence as well) and the two you are thinking about, I'd vote for #2! Good luck!

Thanks! #2 VS1 is about $1000 cheaper although with additional Ebates discount I can probably save another $600 on the BN diamond so really the price difference would be about $400.

BN told me the medium fluorescence in #1 VVS1 diamond does not cause an oily/hazy appearance and I thought the medium fluorescence would be a plus for G color to make it whiter?

The problem is that BN can't give me an Ideal Scope image of the VVS1 diamond; JA can with the VS1 diamond (still waiting though).

Would the GIA certificate for the VS1 dated Feb 2012 be of any concern?

Thank you.
