Now I need to pick a wedding band to wear with it! I currently have a little 1.8mm 14K WG band, but I want a new one that will be a better match size-wise for the legato, and also in 18K gold.

The solitaire is 2.5mm wide and I asked WF to measure it''s thickness too, and it is 1.8mm at the side of the finger, which is where any thickness difference between the bands would be most noticable IMO. I am going to have is sized 1/4 size bigger than my e-ring for comfort, since I want to wear it 24/7. Here are the options I am considering, all from e-weddingbands.com. I want to keep the budget in the range of the options I''ll present.

Option 1:

3mm 18K White Gold Wedding Band, Milgrain Edges. This one is 1.5mm thick, but since it will be sized 1/4 size larger I think it will probably have the same profile as the legato, which is 1.8mm. I am thinking that although this band is .5 mm wider, this will be less visually apparent b/c of the milgrain.

Option 3

2.5mm 18K White Gold Wedding Band, Domed. This is also 1.5 mm thick but it is the same width as the legato. I think it is a little boring when I wear it without the e-ring, but thought I''d include it in the voting.

You want bling with it, remember!! What bling options do you have? ETA I just noticed you are working within your budget.

Option 3 so far of the ones you've listed.

Option 4

Signed pieces comfort fit bands, they have a 2.5mm width with milgrain. These are a lot more expensive than the others (~$200 versus $130), but thought I would include it in case people feel strongly about the widths matching in the e-ring and w-band.

Cinnamon I DO want BLING, but I can''t afford a blingy band yet, that will have to wait until christmas, so here I want to get a more substantial wedding band that I can wear 24/7, that''s something I have always wanted too.

So you vote for the plain band? I''m not sure I can live with something plain, but I do see that it will match really well...
DD

I like the sleekness of 3 best.

I do vote for 3. I''ve been wanting to get one myself, but plat is so high right now that I''m thinking about a 2mm palladium one from them because I hear palladium matches platinum better than white gold and it doesn''t have to be replated. But that''s a bit off subject.

I realize this is a "no fun" answer but ... why not wait until you have the e-ring in hand & TRY it with your existing 1.8mm 14K wedding band. It might be *lovely*! MENTALLY you''re sure that 18K is gonna be so different & the size diff is gonna be HUGE but in person you might be totally fine with the combo & can save faster toward that future blingy band.

FWIW my ering is a bit wider than my w-band and I prefer that look. Just suggesting: give it a CHANCE before making another purchase. And if you DON''T like it, you''ll have the e-ring to try with different width/style bands IN PERSON in B&M stores before you order online. Think it could save a world of hurt & trial/error.

I agree with Deco. I would rather wait and put the money towards my blingy ring than get one now and wait longer for that. Your delicate little band will make your stone pop more! I have the Legato Sleek Line and I tried it on with a 3mm plain band and I felt that it took away from the diamond.

Wait! I was thinking her current band is yellow gold. I would agree with Deco and Maisie. Wait. At least until you get the ering and take some time to shop around. You can wear your original band in the meantime.

Yep, since you already have one, I''d wait to see how it looks. If it will "do" til you can get a lil bling, perfect. If not, I''d look around town for a band. I like the ones with the milligrain edges.

I saw the thread about wearing 14kt with 18kt DD... I didn''t realise it would cause damage.... maybe you shouldn''t wear them together after all...

Thanks for your replies everyone, I appreciate it! I think I am going to wait, like you all suggested. I will keep an eye on my solitaire and see if the 14K band is causing any scratching. I suspect you have to wear them for a long time before the wear becomes apparent, but I just don't know. Do you all think it is safe? Pandora and another poster (sorry can't recall your name right now) didn't think I should risk wearing them together.

Maise: what do you wear with your legato?

I would really love this band:

http://www.whiteflash.com/Wedding_Bands/Halo-Wedding-Band_1004.htm#

It is the same width as the legato and I think it would be subtle enough to not take away from my diamond... what do you all think? Sometimes I like to look of a diamond band with a solitaire, but other times I think it takes away form the band. And that is $1000 I could put towards my next upgrade! But I also don't like a plain band, it is too plain and I think the wedding band should also be special. I just don't know!

ETA: I already have a half-eternity band that is 3mm wide and 2mm thick, but it is 9 pointers and I think it will definitely take away from the solitaire diamond! Maybe when I get up to 1.5ct I can wear it

.

PS: I am going to die waiting for my ring. They said it will ship on Tuesday, which means I won't get it until wed/thursday cuz it has to go through customs... argh!

dd, I had never heard about the different golds being worn together. I have 14K WB with my 18K Vatche. I''ll have to give it a good looksie, I''ve been wearing them together for almost a year now. If it does start eating away, I won''t do anything, as this isn''t my forever setting. I''ll just have to get a new one sooner. Drat.

Ellen, please let me know what your detective work uncovers, if anything. This isn''t my forever setting either since I plan to upgrade until I hit 1.30ct or so, and then get a Ritani or Tacori setting that will keep me happy for a long time. So I may not worry about the rubbing so much either...

Will do.

I don''t wear anything with my Legato at the minute. I am hoping to get a blingy band at some point, but I wanted to get the upgrading thing over with first

Thanks Ellen!

Maise, when does your honkin'' new diamond come in?? Are you flying to Huston to get it?

Hi DD,
Can''t wait to see your new pretty, but I''m with DecoD on this one. I would wait til you can try one some WBs with it and find something that doesn''t disturb the beautiful lines of the Legato.

I think a thin micro pave wedding band would look beautiful with your ring and definitely not take away from your e-ring. The other option would be a very thin plain band of the same metal of your e-ring. I would skip the milgrain and everything and just get the best plain style to match the best.

I''m still dithering about having it reset. I am hoping to fly to Houston to get it though

My first choice would be deco''s suggestion.

My second choice would be Option 3. I like the idea of having a plain band that I could wear any time and also use in stacking.

i vote for option 3

I like 3 but was also thinking of getting 4 for myself to wear when I wanted a cheap band.

Thanks for the votes everyone... it looks like I am going with "option deco" and waiting until I have moolah. There are a million really pretty BeverlyK gold and diamond bands at Pearlman's that I think would look great... they are about 2mm wide (I like one band narrower than the other) and I just contacted them to see how thick they are... the prices are very reasonable and so I may be able to get those sooner rather than later. I really love the look of Coati's rings in her avatar right now, so I may start a little collection of my own ; ) I live close enough that I could drive there for a look see...

... I have worn 18kt, 14kt (and shhhhhhhhhhhhhhh 10kt) together for years .... NO ISSUES!!! I even just ordered platinum bands to go with my 18kt yellow gold band. I think you should definately get your new ring first and then try on a bunch of options.

P.S. I LOVE YOUR THREE STONE SAPPHIRE RING SOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOO MUCH!!!

dd, I cleaned my ring this morning and whipped out the loupe. I see no evidence of any "symmetrical" wearing/damage. Nothing to indicate my WB is causing a problem. So, as of right now, so far so good.

Thanks that is really good to know Ellen!

And thanks for the compliments woo, you know I love all your rings too, they are AWESOME! Especially your new J

I posted pics from WF of my new ring in SMTR if anyone is interested! Hand shots in 2 days (or less), commencing countdown!
