Hey everyone
I am looking to upgrade my diamond. Right now its 1.3 ct round diamond in a round halo. I want to upgrade the diamond and then get it set in a Victor Canera cushion halo. I would ideally like to keep the budget for the diamond to be around $15-$16K. Can you please let me know which diamond you think would perform the best? Or are there any other places I should be looking for them? Also I'd like to mention I like the elongated cushion,so what ratio should I be looking at?
Thanks so much in advance!

1- Is this the crushed ice look? What is the way to know?

2-These are the two Victor recommended. I have never seen a K colored diamond in person (Right now I have a G) I love the look of it in pictures but now sure how I'd like them in person.

again,is this crushed ice look?

Also what do you guys think of Victor's double halo? I saw Tiffany soleste in person today and loved it. I loved the fact that the first halo surrounding the diamond looks like a part of the diamond and not like two distinct halos. Is Victor's just as delicate and seamless? I am 5 hours away from LA and plan to go visit Victor in person before I take the plunge. Just want to educate myself before that.

Sorry for so many questions.Looking forward to gaining from your knowledge.
Thanks!!

Anyone? Any help woild be GREATLY appreicated. Thanks :))

I would do one of Victor's stones and have him do the double halo. His stones are going to outperform any others, and his double halo is going to look better than the soleste. So if you liked the soleste, you will be over the moon with Victor's work.

There are different flavors of cushions so first and foremost I think it's important for you to decide what you like. The two VC stones are modern cut antique cushions...cut for optimal light performance, they are gorgeous and have chunky facets. Then there are modern cushions...some have defined facet patterns (like the stone I suggest below), others have the crushed ice look, and others are H&A cushions that have facet patterns like a round diamond. Again, all a matter of personal preference. We can't tell anything about the goodoldgold or enchanted stones because those are sample images.

This would be a nice choice too if you prefer a more modern cut cushion that is not the crushed ice look and is slightly larger than the VC stones. https://enchanteddiamonds.com/diamonds/search?carat_min=1.9&shape=Cushion&wire_price_max=17170#diamond=C230-783216309

ETA: just read that you prefer an elongated stone..this would also be nice:

Thank you soxfan and ac117 for replying :)
YEs I like the chunky antique look. I am only worried about the K color but I guess I have to see it in person. Ac117 the second stone you sent is gorgeous!!! Thank you.I'll definitely look into it.
So the JamesAllen one wouldn't be a good pick? Thats just the biggest in size so I am tempted,lol..But if its not going to perform then there is no point.

If you like the chunky antique look then the VC stones will certainly fit the bill (and I think he gives a discount if you buy the stone and setting from him, no?). You could also go the true antique route...I'll have a look but you could also contact Jewels by Grace, Adam at Old World Diamonds and Erica at Love Affair Diamonds to see what they have that fits your criteria.

No, the JA stone has too much mush under the table...those facets aren't reflecting any light back. It's also graded by IGI so it's most likely a lower color and clarity. Stick to GIA and AGS.

Not very elongated but both beauties:

aahhh soo pretty... I definitely know that I want antique cut now.. The reason i want elongated is because i tried on two solestes and one was slightly elonagted.. I liked it more on my finger..The other one looked chunkier. From pictures I feel I like warmer colors.. I will definitely make an appointment with Victor. YEs he offers 10% discount if you get the stone and setting from him. However his stones are priced higher. For the same price I am getting a 1.9 ct from him and 2.3 ct from jewels by grace.
Once again, thank u for all your help :))
Does anyone happen to have a double halo from Victor?
