I have an idealscope image of a diamond I will most likely be purchasing.

Can someone look and tell me what they think?

As Lorelei said, ASET would be best, but so far, so good!

I do not have an ASET...sorry.

However, I understand that the white in the image is light leakage. Is this diamond going to have poor light return or does this look alright?

A small amount of leakage is ok, as it can help with contrast/scintillation. Your stone doesn''t seem to have an abundance of leakage (all fancies have some), so I think it''s worth bringing home. Just have an idependant appraiser take a look to be sure.

Which lab graded this?

It''s GIA.

Here are the specs, I should have included them in the first place!

Excellent cut
VS2

Symmetry: Very good
Measurements: 5.73 - 5.48 x 4.11

Ditto, looks great with the pic!!

Thank you so much for your input so far, everyone.

I am hoping Garry H (Cut Nut) will be back around later this evening...one final say before I buy!

Thanks in advance to everyone else who takes a look!

I''ll agree- looks like a really nice princess!

First, GIA does not put Cut Grade''s on Princess Cuts. Second, Remember that square are a Lot smaller and have aprox. 1/2 the brillance of rounds Third, the corner''s are very bad about chipping.

Now, with all that said, you are buying a 5.7mm Princess cut stone while a round is 6.5mm. Outside of that, it looks like it might have good brillance for a Princess Cut!

Thanks everyone for your input! I GOT THE DIAMOND! I will post pictures when I have it set, right now it''s in the little temporary setting that they sent it in. When I opened the box, it sparkled so much and I just couldn''t look away!

Sigh...

StoneOakDan, I know that princesses are smaller, but I just can''t take my eyes off them. I really love the shape! I think it''s worth it, especially because my setting will have lots of stones in a channel setting.

I''m so excited! Thanks for everyones help on here, you have been great!

boo, no need to justify why you picked the stone you did.

I''m so glad you love it, and we''d love to see pics if that''s possible!

Princess is measured side to side - it will be about 8.1mm corner to corner if that helps. Also you probably paid a lot less than the same weight col clarity round

It will be much brighter than almost all the princess cuts it will be compared to, but the center table area will usually appear a lot brighter than the crown facet area, especially when it is not clean - so search cleaning here and follw the instructions.
