Please help find a beautiful oval!!!

I know there is so much knowledge among the PS community, so I am asking for YOUR help
I am searching for an oval diamond and can't seem to get a grasp of how the numbers equate to the actual appearance of the stone.
Simply to categorize a stone as having an "excellent" cut, doesn't seem to equate to much.

Does anyone understand how the depth and table% can lent to the stone's appearance, or any other tool for weeding through listings in an oval diamond search?

I am looking for:
1.5ct (give or take 0.25)
Colorless
Eye clean
~1.3 l/w ratio
minimal bowtie
No funky dark facets on the tips (what is this?)

Please suggest away!

From what I understand, fancy cuts like and oval don't have an official cut grading. There are "ideal" depth and table percentages, but in ideal circumstances, you would want to see the stone in person or at least actual photos of it in different lighting and an ASET. I've seen a really really shallow oval in person that weighs below 1ct (about.80) but faces up to about 1ct and sparkles like mad! Or, if you know of a trusted vendor who can help weed out the "bad' ones and find a nice eye pleasing one, that would be great too! Good Old Gold have a few videos of ovals on youtube and Brian seems to be good to deal with in term of an oval search. You can look at some on Jamesallen to get an ideal of what you like or don't like but don't be fooled, I was told that their photos don't show the brilliance or color of the diamonds, mostly it is for seeing the shape and bowtie effects.

I just purchased an oval and I'll post a thread here and on "Show me the bling" very shortly. I will include the stats too.

Sounds like you are looking for a "roval." That L/W ratio of about 1.3 (or maybe a little less) is on the short end of the "desirable" L/W ratio or maybe even below it, so you may be able to find something at a little bit lower price. Several of us here love "rovals".

I'm not good at the searching part so I can't help with that, but I hope you find a spectacular "roval." I love mine.

And when you say 'colorless' do you mean D-F or would you consider a G as well?

Good Old Gold will call in a few stones for you to choose from and make a video showing you how they perform in different lighting. They will do other tests to check light performance as well. Kaleigh, a long time member here, had them source her oval and it is a beautiful stone!
