Hello!
After reading so much about diamonds for the first time here on PS I managed to nail down my search for the following stats:
Round, ~0.9ct, I-VS1, Cut: Excellent, Symmetry and Polish at least VG

After a search on PS the following 3 diamonds meet the criteria:
a) RITANI https://www.pricescope.com/diamond/8959f8d7e9931fa9313d931581a58229
b) Blue Nile https://www.pricescope.com/diamond/520193e04e2b3aa7c5cbc6c7cbdaf1ad
c) Whiteflash https://www.pricescope.com/diamond/db3866a8de82ea5621f254f250b10b29

Since the prices range between $3900 and $5300 can you tell me if it would be worth spending the extra money or if the cheapest would be a good choice?

Are all stones fine for a tension setting?

Is RITANI a recommended site (shipping to EU)?

Thank you already for your help!

May I ask why you are so specific about I color and VS1 clarity? Most people set a budget and then find the best stone within that budget.

That said, I'd buy the WF stone just because I can see all the images I want - idealscope, ASET, etc - and that is worth a lot to me so I know I'm getting a good performer.

The Ritani scores well on the HCA. Ask if they can provide an idealscope image (I forget if they can or not).

The BN only scores a 2.4 on the HCA, "worth buying if the price is right" - that said BN does not provide idealscope images, so there is no way to know if this is a good performer. Therefore I'd pass on this one. Plus they aren't a Ritani dealer if you are looking for a Ritani setting (you said something about a tension setting?)

I'd set a budget and maybe go up in color if you are considering a tension setting, as an I may show body color from the side in an open style.

How about something like this? 0.895 F VS2 http://www.whiteflash.com/loose-diamonds/round-cut-loose-diamond-3520065.htm

You may be right with the color since the Niessing tension setting I had in mind is completely open from the side.
The budget would be around $4000-$4500 so the RITANI one would be perfect if it has no downside. I am waiting if they can supply additional images. Otherwise I would have to rethink about raising the budget...
I was told by Niessing that they will only do the selected tension setting with VS1 and above diamonds to reduce risk of diamond cracking due to internal flaws.
And for the color, so far I prefered a bigger diamond size to the whiter color. But I might tend to select a H just to make sure to hardly see any coloration.
