So on Friday, payday, I'm going to finalize my purchase with WF. I think I picked out a good stone

But for about $600 more there's this other stone that I keep looking at, albeit a bit smaller but better color.

Should I pay the $600 and switch stones? Please help me with my mini OCD

Niel, in a previous thread was nice enough to suggest a BG stone, however I like WF upgrade policy a bit more. You never know when she wants to upgrade (YIKES)

I would stay with the one you've reserved. It's a couple tenths of a mm larger and you probably won't see the difference in color unless you have the two diamonds side by side, and maybe not even then.

But most of my diamonds are I, J, or warmer so I'm biased toward warmer diamonds.

Visually, you won't see the size difference. 0.10mm seems like it's alot numbers-wise, but in real life it's the width of a piece of paper. So imagine wrapping a piece of paper around the stone ONCE, and that's the difference.

H to I, I bet some can tell from the body, but if it's not being compared to anything, it'll be tougher. IIIIIIIIIIIIII can see body color in stones, but most can't. Face up you probably can't, but I PERSONALLY wouldn't go with the I. I'd stop at H, but it's preference. If it were me, I'd go for the H.

On the 1.33 ct the tip of the arrows look a little wonky at 3 o'clock and 9 o'clock. Also, I think you'll notice the difference in color. I don't think you'll be able to see the difference in size at all.

If it were me, I'd go with the very slightly smaller diamond just because of the color difference and the difference in cut.

Two votes for the H and one for the I. Iluv, can you elaborate by why the arrows look wonky? They are both ACA, but i guess some ACA's are better cut, such as this H diamond?

Thank you guys for you input. I really really really appreciate it.

I also vote for the H. I'm super sensitive to colour & just prefer them higher graded - my engagement ring is D colour & eternity ring & other bits & bobs nothing less than F. For the size difference I would definitely get the H :))

This is a tough one because I love the size of the I color one! BUT, I will tell you that I would personally not buy an AGS stone under H color for a ring. So if I had been searching for a stone, my parameters would have been set for G-H only. If you don't think color will matter to her, then go for the I. If you think color is important to her, go for the H.

If you look at the "tips" of the arrows (the part closest to the outside) they just don't look as symetrical as the others. (I'm not an expert) ;))

Yes I love the size too, but truthfully as someone said before the size difference is negligible. I guess what's another $600. Just pick up some extra hours at work. :-) I guess the H would be the safer bet, plus someone mentioned it might be a slightly better cut. I really wish I could see them in person.

Oh I didn't even notice that. Thanks for pointing that out, although on the ideal-scope and aset it looks normal. Maybe just an artifact?

It's done. I switched to the H colored diamond. Thanks for everyones help and feedback. I will take a picture when it comes in.

She's a very lucky girl and I'm sure she will be THRILLED!!!!

Thanks. She deserves it. Unfortunately, I won't be as thrilled when I see my checking account after the funds have been deducted. ;(

J/K. Sort of. :-)
