Please could I have your thoughts on this stone

Hi everyone,

Im looking at a 3.00 carat cushion with the following specs (and an HRD cert):

9.01x8.62x5.51
t 61%
hc 14.5%
hp 46%
gi medium 3% FD
cu 0.7% POL
f.gr = good
H VVS2 no flour

Any advice you could offer in terms of cut quality and price range would be much appreciated.

Did you see the stone in person? They all look different. Really, it's just about finding one you like the look of.

So, is the total depth 63.5? and the table is 61? If so, that looks very good to me.

As for price -- run a search for diamonds on the pricescope home page with your specs and see if the price is on par with those...

I would not buy a VVS2 -- IMO, you are spending a lot of extra money on clarity you'll never see. But I know some people prefer high clarity. I'd go for a VS1 or VS2 (or eyeclean SI1).

Also, I never heard of that kind of certificate. What does that stand for? Generally, GIA certs are the most accurate and well-respected.
