Hi Everyone!
Well my fiance and i have decided to finally tie the knot
And would love some advice on choosing a loose diamond.
Ive given the 4Cs quite some consideration but i do understand there is alot more then that in choosing a nice stone. After hours of reading and research it seems the only thing ive manage to do is get a headache
But so far i have find one diamond and im actually quiet excited as ill be viewing this stone tomorrow. The stone comes with a GIA certificate.
Cut: Princess 4.32*4.20*3.12mm
Weight: .51
Colour: D
Clarity: VVS2
Polish: Excellent
Symmetry: Excellent
Fluorescence: Faint
Clarity Characteristics: Pinpoint
Girdle: 4.00 Slightly thick to thick
Table: 72%
Depth:74.2%
Pavilion Depth: 56.7
Crown Percentage: 13.7
So now my first question is what is wrong with this diamond as its price seems cheap to others that ive seen with similar characteristics ($1620) Going by the 4Cs this stone almost seems ideal/perfect but you know what they say if its too good to be true then it most likely is. So is the cut to deep or shallow... does the fluorescence make a big deal? Is the table/depth/crown too big or small? Any thing wrong with this diamond? Anything i should know that could effect its value? Perhaps something i could change to get a better stone with more brilliance?
My second question is, that id like to get a slightly larger stone, .7 weight. Now if i had to trade off one of the above qualities to keep the price within the same price range (2000k) which of the above categories is least important when choosing a princess cut diamond.
Any input/feedback/advice would be really appreciated as id love some advice besides that of a jeweller who ofcourse is trying to sell me something.
Warm regards,
Jay
