9CECA128-7D0C-4FB7-AEFF-295D2004BA4F.jpeg Hello, I would appreciate your comments on Idealscope I received. My hold ends in 24 hours and I think I am ready to move on this stone unless I hear something negative on Idealscope here. I think it looks pretty good - am I wrong in reading it?

Can you post the angles / measurements?

HCA score is under 2, which is what you want, and it should perform just fine with the angles.

The scope image suggests leakage under the table but I think it might just be over-exposed.

I personally am a clarity-freak so am averse to inclusions within the table area, but if the gemologist has confirmed it is eye-clean, there should be no issues :)

JA do have good returns policies, too, so you can assess it in your own home if you move forward!

Do you think the leakage is significant? Or minor? What’s interesting is that during the call with gemologist I had this diamond compared to another, which was True Hearts. In gemologist’s opinion this one had better light performance and more sparkle than their True Hearts diamond. I got an Idealscope image for True Hearts as well, and I can’t see appreciable difference (above). Do they both have leakage issues under the table?

It's not the best IS I've ever seen but it could be due to slight leakage or issues taking the image, but nonetheless, it's going to be a great looking diamond. I would ask about the etch channel noted on the report to make sure there's no issue with that.

Sorry just to clarify, is the second IS image the TH that the gemologist was comparing against?

It would be really interesting to see pictures and specs of both the stones that you had which the gemologist preferred over the TH one.

Gm89uk, you are correct, the second image is TH branded stone, AGS 000. Link is below. According to gemologist, this one wasn’t eye clean either.

I also had a third stone evaluated, another AGS 000: https://www.jamesallen.com/mobile/l...rat-e-color-si2-clarity-ideal-cut-sku-4455445

The last one was least eye clean, and had the worst light performance (to the eye and through IS - this is the IS above in this post). I’m having a hard time figuring out how to post pictures after text, not before.

Thank you Lorelei. Gemologist didn’t think there were any structural concerns - would that be the only issue with etch channel?

I did place the order :) really hope the diamond looks good in person!

Well, if the gemologist says there's no concern with the etch channel, you should be ok. Yes, in SI clarity grades an etch channel needs expert evaluation to see if there are any durability concerns but as you got the thumbs up, it's eye clean to your standards and everything checks out you should be fine - congratulations!

Thanks

Very interesting the gemologist thought that the TH was less sparkly which has 'ideal proportions'. Congratulations on your purchase, looks like excellent value for money for a 2ct.
