Hi Magnolia,

I don't know if you are aware of how the grading labs rank but EGL can be less strict on grading than GIA or AGS in some cases, this link explains in greater detail. Do you know which EGL lab graded this diamond such as EGL USA, Israel etc? EGL USA is said to be the strongest of the EGL labs, with the overseas branches being less strict on grading in some circumstances.

What is the carat weight please? Also the crown and pavilion percentages will be needed in order to evaluate this diamond, is it for sale online so you could get an Idealscope image?

oh... didn''t notice i forgot to include ct weight.

it''s 1.90 ct
Crown Height: 15 %
Pavillon Depth: 43 %
Girdle Thickness: Medium, Faceted
8 hearts and 8 arrows

i''m aware about EGL inferior grading.... but will check out the link, thank you!

Thanks Magnolia. It looks like a decently cut stone, however whether it is actually hearts and arrows is anyone's guess without images of both hearts and arrows. If this matters to you, having a ' true' h&a diamond then images would be essential in order to judge the precision of the cut. What I would suggest if you want to buy this diamond, get this in writing and make the sale final on the diamond checking out to your satisfaction in all aspects with an independant appraisal, here is a tool you can use to find an appraiser in your area.

Concerning the price, is the diamond for sale online or from a brick and mortar store? Also have you seen the diamond and do you know if it is eyeclean to your standards or not?

it''s online, and they have "7 DAYS RETURN POLICY WITH NO QUESTIONS ASKED AND NO RESTOCKING FEE"
and there are two images of hearts and arrows but i can''t copy them.

also, is there a way to verify report online?

Which vendor is it, or is it with an online auction? Are the images just on the report or do you have actual hearts and arrows images for the diamond taken by the seller?

no, images aren''t included in the online report.
it is online auction and there are two images that i can''t copy - but for all i know they might not be for the same diamond.

so, even if report states that there are 8 hearts & 8 arrows, it still might not be the case? i''m a little confused...

The report just notes what's on the diamond when it comes in for grading - the reporting authority isn't making the call, if that makes sense?

The problem is that some vendors are more lenient with their definitions of "H&A" than others.

To copy the images, could you do a print screen, crop it and post that? It's crude but it should work..

yap, unless there is an image provided, you cannot be sure if it is a H&A.

If its Ebay then I would steer clear personally unless its a well known vendor of great reputation.
