Platinum/ Appraisal report Question

I have a question, if you make a ring out of platinum and it is 90% plat and 10% iridium should''nt your appraisal report state that fact. If the ring is custom made and does not have a stamp in it. If not how can you know what platinum grade the jeweler used except to have it tested manually. Thanks

It would have to be sent off to be laser tested I beleive and that would cost more $$$, I''ve never seen the process but not many appraisors can just tell you the composition from their office.
This makes very ltitle difference to the price of an item anyway IMO.
