Platinum and White Gold Mix?

Hello all! First post, great forum! I have really learned a lot on here in the past few days. I bought my wife a platinum pendant with chain. She already has an older smaller white gold pendant with chain. I know she likes the old white gold box chain and would like to use the new platinum pendant with it, is that ok? So basically, can she use the platinum pendant with the 14k wg box chain? What about the wg pendant with the platinum cable chain? Thanks for all the help!

She can mix and match as long as she doesn't mind that they look slightly different even though both are "white' metals.
