And does it also mean the other 5% is ruthenium?
I did do a search but I only came up with a response that was attributed to e-weddingrings.com which I'm not sure is accurate: "All e-Wedding Bands platinum bands are 95% pure platinum and 5% ruthenium. This particular platinum/ruthenium alloy combination -- generally referred to as PLAT or PT950 -- is the highest purity available in platinum bands."
My engagement ring is stamped PLAT, and I was curious if from this stamp I could tell whether it's ruthenium or iridium.
Thanks to all the experts again!!
Edited to add: Just to be clear, my ring is NOT from e-weddingrings.com... or else I'd have the answer to my question!
