Ummmm I hope it’s ok to post this!
I was thinking in a year or 2 I would get some plastic surgery. Maybe after I slow down on my pearl buying. :lol-2:
How do people feel about it these days? I feel like it’s more accepted, and I want to make sure I go to someone good.
Has anyone gotten anything done? How was your experience? I’m thinking full tummy tuck (I had 3 children and terrible diastis recti), a neck nip/tuck (never have liked my neck), and maybe a butt enhancement?? :twisted2: I always had a nice butt until I got pregnant and it just disappeared! Hasn’t been back since. If anyone finds it wandering about somewhere please let me know!
But seriously, thoughts?

Quite a while ago, one of my co- workers had a tummy tuck and liposuction. She was very happy with the results, and she she reported that her hubby was also very happy with the results! I’ve known a few people who had eyelid lifts, usually prescribed because their drooping eyelids interfered with their driving. My mother was rather unhappy with the result of her eyelid surgery. A friend ended up looking different but not necessarily better - but then, “looking better” wasn’t exactly the goal.

I could certainly use a “butt enhancement” but there’s no way I’d even consider it. There are so many examples of celebrity facial injections that have gone wrong that I’d be concerned about any sort of filler. With the rear end they’d be working with more material, plus it seems there’d be more room for the filler to migrate.

You’re giving yourself plenty of time to do your due diligence! Good luck!

Yeah I’m not too sure about the actual face. Probably will do my neck at some point, to give myself a more defined jawline. It just always bugged me.
Probably will also do the tummy tuck, I’m sure my husband would like the results as well. :cool2:
I’ve heard they made good advancements with butt enhancements, and only using a fat transfer but that’s something I’ll have to do more research about before I feel comfortable.
I suspect recovery probably sucks! I’ve had 3 c sections and some were more painful than others.

My thoughts after several major health issues/surgeries is to never voluntarily have surgery. That’s just me. There are some things I’d like to improve upon but I know I won’t do it.

I’m super chicken and don’t like the doctor so it’s not for me but I’m good friends with an anaesthetist who texts me all day during plastic surgery day every week so it seems to be very common and safe.

I live in the land of Plastic surgery (So Cal), and know lots of people who have had their b00bs and nose done, but surprisingly, don’t know a single person who has had a tummy tuck, necklift or butt enhancement, all of which would be things I would consider doing myself, but only if I ever become single…my husband and I are fine with the way things are right now. Good luck and keep us posted on your journey!

Not just you. Plenty of doctors in my family (I'm not one of them) and I'm of the same opinion. I wouldn't voluntarily take the medical risks for a purely elective procedure. I'd rather live with my body the way it is. Imagine going in for a BBL, getting a fat embolism and never leaving the OR. I'd take a flat butt over that any day.

@uwodahikamama I don't mean to scare you. You have plenty of time to do your research and get in touch with qualified specialists. After all, if your doctors follow the best medical practices, this should lower any risks to a minimum.

Hi, it's me! LOL. Do it if it'll make you happier. I've had a few, but I run with the crowd where that's just a Tuesday. I don't see it much different than other body mods (tattoos, piercings) obviously at a different magnitude. I'm happy for having things altered, just research your doctor extensively (the realself site is fantastic, it's the pricescope of plastic surgeries).

Ah also, I've had one internal/organ/health related surgery and that was a WHOLE other ballpark of pain and recovery in comparison to surface-like level/non-organ surgery, whew.

I'm the same. General anesthesia can always be a potential risk, so I stay away from it for any elective reason. Saying that, I have a friend who has had a mini-face lift, an eye lift (supposedly necessary from dropping eyelids) and 3 boob jobs---yes 3. Twice her breasts became encapsulated and she had to have them redone. I think I would have stopped.....

Count me in with those who never plan on having elective surgery.

Surgery to relieve pain, yes.
Surgery to improve function, yes.
Surgery to make me look younger/better, no.

How do people feel about it these days? I feel like it’s more accepted,

First, don't worry about what others feel about it and whether it's accepted. Why should you care? It's no one's business but your own.

I had a face and neck lift 15 yrs ago and have been thinking about eyelid surgery for awhile. I'm hesitant about the eyelid surgery only because it's been a busy few years and I haven't had time to factor the procedure and recovery into my schedule.

We have several good plastic surgeons in my small town and I chose the one who had the most experience doing faces and he also had the most experience doing reconstruction. I figured if he could put badly damaged people back together, he should be able to handle my saggy face :mrgreen2: All but one of the surgeons had excellent reviews.

A good way to find out if there is anything negative about a surgeon you choose is to ask the person who does your hair or your nails if you get those done. They have loads of clients who share stuff that never makes it to the general public. For example, we have a plastic surgeon who everyone went to for breast work and he has been known as the best of the best for a long time. Through the grapevine I found out his skills aren't what they used to be and several of his clients had to go to other surgeons in town, including mine, to fix his mistakes.

It's up to you. I'm in the land of fake b00bs - they're everywhere! But so is botox, fillers, eye lifts, etc. It's not my thing, but you do you! I'm more than happy to give you some butt, should you need it. :lol-2:

HI:

Absolutely no one's business but yours.

Given I have worked in Burns/Plastics in a major hospital/trauma center, I have a bit of experience with surgeries, etc.

My suggestion is to find a Surgeon who specializes in what you want as not every surgeon does everything. I recall joking with one Doc--about having a face lift--he was honest: "you don't need one, you are too young (many need it redone later) but (most importantly" I don't do them".

Also some facial procedures, like lids, can be done under local.

cheers--Sharon

I am the same.

I only had one tattoo back in late 2009 as it was too painful for me to consider having another!

I had some minor surgical procedures in 2020; one under a general anaesthetic, still have the scars to remind me what I went through.

Not going to voluntarily have surgery, paid or unpaid!

Yeah I actually have piercings and tattoos too :D I’ve been under general anesthesia multiple times, in addition to 3 c sections so it doesn’t really scare me the way it used to. Not sure if that’s a good thing!

Working the job I do at a trauma center I see a lot of plastic surgeon's work - both cosmetic and reconstructive. Plastic surgery of both types is wonderful and changes lives. I follow this surgeon on instagram and have never seen such incredible work - he's truly an artist

I’d like to see this doctor’s expertise but the link is restricted unless I’m logged in. Can someone share the account name with me? Thanks in advance.
