Okay, Here's the ring I'm going to refer to.

My question is, what do you ladies think (in this case, and in general and in your own case) about plain wedding bands vs. diamond ones or more elaborate ones.

I tend to think I like more elaborate, wider ones, but I'm leaning toward a narrower (3mm max, 2mm is perfect), plain gold band (which happens to be my grandma's) over getting a diamond one. Because the width and diamonds seem to take away and not enhance the e-ring, in this case mostly because they seem to alter the shape of the illusion head.

So ladies, can simpler be better sometimes? Did any of you go simple for this reason? For those who went more elaborate and tried the ring with simpler ones, what made you chose the more elaborate setting?

Or what about the narrow (2-3mm) bands with diamonds instead of larger bands?

Thoughts?

I would keep it simple and thin because your ering is substantial. A diamond band would fight for attention. Of course, you ought to go to a jewelry store and try some different bands on and see what you like. I also like the idea of your gramma's band with the antique setting if it's the same color of gold.
