How do you all feel about a plain band with an eternity/half-eternity/pave/generally blingy e-ring?

I see lots of solitaires with eternity wedding bands, but I don't see near as many of the opposite.

I like the contrast of one blingy/one plain - and I thought having the band be plain would be good for those times that are too messy for nice jewelry - like gardening, etc.

Pictures or thoughts?

Thanks!

I have a plain gold wedding band with a 'blingy' e-ring and I'm quite happy with the set!

In my case, the simple band kind of 'disappears' and lets the sparkles do the talking... I'm all about talking sparkles!

I am all for a blingy e-ring and plain wedding band as a matter of fact this is what I am striving to have...I have the plain band and one of these days I am gonna do a reset and have a really blingy e-ring :wink2: I cannot tolerate a dirty ring, so I take my everything off and only wear my wedding band most of the time...so it would be nice to be able to just slide the one ring off instead of 2.

I got married earlier this month, so it's all new to me...

I have a plain platinum band with my BGD halo e-ring. I love it so far! (haven't posted any pics yet) When I wear them together, you barly even notice the plain band, which works for me.

As much as I love bling, it was important to me to have a plain metal wedding band that I can wear ALL THE TIME and not have to worry about losing stones, prongs getting snagged, getting dirty, etc.
...and I like the option of adding a blingy anniversary band in the future. :naughty:

Our wedding is next summer and I am thinking like this too. I like a lot of sets here and I found a channel set eternity band that is absolutely beautiful, but I would really, really, love to find a simple, plain band that will look good with or without my engagement ring. I created a poll here and had 90% of answers go for the diamond band, so I know this opinion is rather unpopular here.

I was even thinking about getting two plain platinum wedding bands, something we can both wear every day, and having copies made out of silver, for more tricky situations, like spending the summer on the beach or travelling around the world. We don't have enough money to stay at fancy places.

And... as Chloe says, not getting a diamond band as a wedding band does not mean not getting it ever... it leaves him with a nice opportunity to buy it for an anniversary.

I'm planning to do the exact same thing! My e-ring has full eternity-style pave, and I want a very thin and plain platinum band to wear with it on my left hand. I don't want to have to worry about the e-ring getting damaged, and I do want to have a band that I can wear at all times.

But I *am* planning to get a super blingy ring for my right hand - I'm Greek Orthodox, and for us the wedding ring traditionally goes on the right ring finger. I want to use both bands in my ceremony so that they are both blessed by the priest etc, and then I will have two - one blingy for my right hand and one plain for my left. American and Greek traditions combined, to my benefit :). And I can always wear the plain one, and I can wear the eternity blingy one on my right hand whenever I feel like it. Even for normal people only planning to have one wedding band, the concept of having a plain band with the ering and a blingy anniversary RHR would still apply! So that is my vote.
