I started a post about my new e-ring (yay!) but need help with a band.

https://www.pricescope.com/community/threads/my-new-asscher-ring-is-coming.39639/

I have always thought that what I wanted was a plain platinum flat (pipe-cut) comfort fit band. I chose a solitaire that was in keeping with that style, and that wouldn''t overwhelm me with metal that swallows my finger from its base to the knuckle. I''m a size 6 and it seems too much for me to go beyond a combined width of 6-7mm.

I have never thought I wanted a band with diamonds, because I don''t like the feeling of eternity bands (feel like braces on my finger!), and channel set is a bit more blingy/flashy/diamondy that I''m personally looking for right now. I''m a mom of three young kids and it''s just not where I am right now. I don''t want to have to pick babyfood out of the nooks of an eternity band

But then I saw this band and tried in on in a jewelry store, and while it doesn''t fit the style of my e-ring, the jeweler and I have been talking about a custom made band with 10 sq. baguette diamonds flush with the band top and sides of the band, spread around the band, similar to this solomon brothers/ memoire paris ring. I think it is called invisible set, or gypsy set, or such. He''s very excited about the design we''ve come up with (Isaac at Dimend Scaasi) and wants to use mine as a sample on his site if we go forward.

I''ve attached photos of the e-ring from dscaasi.com, and will also post pic of the band.

Can you guys imagine what I''m talking about? Any thoughts? Especially from fellow plain band lovers? I''m struggling with the idea of everything being too flashy (i know I know...I''m extra flash-sensitive) when I have only considered a plain band before.

Here is the band that started me thinking...mine would have ten sq baguettes to match the asscher...

I love that band. I think it would look great with your new ring. Very understated and subtle. I understand your concern with e-bands (I am dealing with my own worried about them).

ummmmmmm. I think that would be dreamy! I wish I could find something like that, scattered square cut/Asscher stones in an engraved/antiquey band. Paging Issac!

Yes, it does seem lovely, doesn''t it?

The sq baguettes are used because asschers don''t come smaller than .30 ct, I believe, and the only difference is that the corners aren''t clipped. Tiffany does the same thing with their lovely eternity bands.

Isaac is simply fabulous to work with. He, I''m sure, could do your dream band!

Thanks for taking the time to help me out! Input is helping

That band is so pretty!! I think it would be very lovely and definitely not too flashy. If you go with it I would love to see pictures!

I''m leaning towards the diamond band, but still thinking, and wondering if I should stick with my original instincts. I do appreciate having the ability to go diamond free sometimes, but I guess I could get over that!

I''m planning to get the matching (diamond) band that goes with my engagement ring, but also get a plain platinum band to wear if I''m ever camping, swimming, hiking, or anything where I don''t feel safe wearing the diamond band. So I say go for the diamond band (b/c that one is beautiful and looks like it would be great with your engagement ring!!) and then buy a cheap backup that won''t have the same emotional importance as your real wedding ring, but will allow you to still wear A wedding ring during times you don''t feel right wearing the diamond one. In any case, get whatever it is you think you''ll LOVE the most! Good luck!!

I''m so excited! I just talked to Isaac and he said that he alters the base of the engagement ring slightly so that the band sits flush...I always wanted them to sit flush but didn''t want a notch in the band, since I want it to stand alone at times...what a great idea!

Have any of you heard of this...it seems like all of the other places warp or notch the wedding band...

I think that settles it for me. I love the idea that he will make both the e-ring and wband at the same time, and make sure that they fit perfectly.
