Start up a thread that clearly identifies your position, and others who feel as you do can support each other. That's my best advice. This thread has attracted those wishing to rejoice, as was my intention. Many of us just can't sympathize right now.

This is an opinion. This is like saying a certain President to be and his VP both worked hard in their careers to keep people incarcerated. Those people were overwhelmingly People Of Color. So hypothetically...

However, I feel grateful to live in a country where we can express ourselves freely and people can rebut me freely. This is a precious freedom.

So gleefully calling people Nazis and Racists is okey dokey? I disagree. I think this type of rhetoric is unfounded and divisive. And I STILL am happy that we are able to disagree in public with words and I‘m grateful that we live in this free country.

Well for me personally it will be fine. But to expect sudden feelings of commraderie from others as a whole after being called racists nazis and other horrible names for 4 years is a big ask. Don't be surprised if it's not met with open arms.

I was being sincere and offered in the spirit of kindness. The offer still stands.
I have no expectations.

We all need to get over ourselves. None of us enjoyed being called names the past 4 years. Mud slinging came from both sides. I'm not looking for warm fuzzies and camaraderie or for anger, frustration and lack of respect to magically disappear. I'm hoping we will start modeling positive behavior that motivate others to adopt. I'm hoping that there is a steady increase in the numbers of people willing to take the first step toward regaining the ability to compromise so we stop shooting ourselves in the face and at least slow down, if not completely stop, this self-destructive merry-go-round that passes for political governance in this country.
