pinpont and needles!!?? is it ok or stay away?

Utilizing pricescope now for a couple of months, Im ready to purchase a diamond and propose to my gf of 4 years. I found one that is within my budget and did the HCA tool thing and it resulted in a 1.1. But my concern is on the GIA report there are these indicators of pinpoints and needles. Should I stay away from this diamond and find something else? Attached is a screen shot of the GIA certificate.

What is the GIA clarity grade for the diamond?

Based on the plot, I am guessing it is likely VS1 or better and. if so, clarity should be no issue whatsoever, and the diamond will be eyeclean from the top and sides even at close inspection. (Prior to purchase, you could have the vendor verify this, just to ease your mind.)

Even if it is VS2 or SI1, again based on the plot I believe it would likely be eyeclean ... you should be able to ask the vendor whether the cloud is visible from the top or sides; and also ask whether the pinpoints and needles are clear or white or if they are dark in color, and whether they are visible from the top or sides. If you do ask the vendor, be sure to specify what your idea of eyeclean is (from the top at 6"? from the sides at 10"?), and request the diamond also be looked at in natural light.

If you are ordering the diamond loose and your vendor is reputable, there should be a reasonable return policy - this way, you can inspect the diamond in different lights and decide whether it meets your standards or not, before having it set into a ring.

Drop the clarity down to an eye clean SI1...it wont cost as much as the A Honda But will look
the same.

To me, it does seem like a good purchase in terms of quality and pricing.

I just quickly checked WhiteFlash and BrianGavinDiamond - searching F/G/H color range, any clarity, and 1.6 - 1.9 carat range:
- WF had a 1.706ct G-VS1 Expert Selection at $19,836 - http://www.whiteflash.com/loose-diamonds/round-cut-loose-diamond-2762643.htm# - per the AGSL report it has Ideal Light Performance, and Ideal Polish and Symmetry, and the Aset looks good though I am less impressed with the IdealScope. This was the only in-house WF diamond that popped up on my search. If there was a WF setting you liked, this stone is a strong contender (and it is apx $3.5K less expensive than the G-VVS2 diamond).

- BGD listed a 1.7ct H-VS2 BGD Signature H&A ($20,936) but it is already Reserved. Otherwise, there was one 1.706ct G-VS1 BGD Signature H&A priced at $25,970 - http://www.briangavindiamonds.com/d...ls/1.706-g-vs1-round-diamond-ags-104063637007 - the BGD stone definitely looks beautiful but it is apx $3.5K more than your diamond (though the price would be lower if you paid via wire).

Not sure if you want blue fluorescence, but BGD also had two 1.7ct F-color diamonds in their Blue line - one was apx $22K (1.73ct F-VS2 http://www.briangavindiamonds.com/d...1.736-f-vs2-round-diamond-ags-bl-104064812032) and the other was apx $25K (1.710ct F-VS1). If your setting was available at BGD, the 1.73ct F-VS2 Blue diamond would also be a strong contender, particularly with its higher color (though I'd make sure with BGD this diamond is also eyeclean to your satisfaction).

Both WF and BGD are reputable vendors with excellent customer service, return, and upgrade policies - and they both have a wide selection of settings available. I am unclear where you found the G-VVS2 diamond and whether its pricing reflects similar vendor policies. Still, I think your G-VVS2 diamond is a solid choice and should be gorgeous if you end up buying it.
