There are large pinpoints right in the middle of the crown. I cant see the actual diamond, but I like everything about it and it fits my budget but I am unsure about these pinpoint.

If your experience, would they be very noticeable? Would appreciate the feedback.

A VVS2 will not have eye visible inclusions by definition - they are graded under 10x loupes.

But that's the least of your concerns - it scores a terrible 5.1 on the HCA - good only if price is your main concern.

This will not be a pretty stone, and will not have good light return or sparkle. Drop clarity a bit and concentrate on cut quality more.

Oh, thank you! I have not realized that! I thought as long as it says excellent symmetry / excellent cut / polish - the stone will have a good sparkle and bling and all. wow, and I thought I knew enough about these things

How about this one!? VS1 E , seems to have better proportions. My only concern is the crystal on the table. How do I figure out how visible this is!? What kind of questions do I ask the seller?

Where are you looking for the stone at? Most times you can if it's eye clean or images of 10x or even 60x to see if you notice any inclusions.

Meant to say. You can ask the dealer.

You ask the seller. It is highly unlikely that the inclusion is at all visible unless you have superman eyes, in which case you will need to spend much more money on higher clarity. This diamond has the potential to be very beautiful because it has a much better package of numbers. As you have already learned, the GIA Excellent cut grade can be great, or garbage.

You also ask the dealer can the surface graining not shown be seen in reflected light from the affected facet? And although the fluorescence is unlikely to be problematic, it is going to make it much harder to sell this diamond should the need ever occur. While I personally like fluorescence, the market is currently HUGELY against it and penalizes the value of the diamond that possesses it.

The tiny crystal in this diamonds table is almost certainly a non issue. Surface graining normally is a non issue too, but it can be so you must ask.

Thanks everyone for quick replies! I really appreciate the fact that you educate consumers like myself to make an informed decision. Im very happy to have found this forum.

Ive did more reading on the diamond cuts and seems like "excellent cut" at GIA is not really "excellent" visually.
So I had to re-evaluate my search criteria and found this stone, which is a bit above my budget by seems like a decent choice.
GIA: 2196411091

HCA grades it as excellent (below 2) but what concerns me is that the table seems a bit large - 60%. But i guess its a good thing - will make it look visually larger when looking from the top?
Would really appreciate your feedback!

guynextdoor,

You have taken a good first step in checking the HCA scores of your selections. Note that anything under a score of 2 is recommended for 'further investigation' - and a .8, for example does not make it better than a 1.8.

If you want the most possible information prior to ordering (or seeing the diamond in person) ask for light performance images which can tell you how efficiently light will be play into and out of the diamond. Ask the seller for Ideal-Scope or (preferably) ASET images of the diamond. You can read why those are important here:

https://www.pricescope.com/tools/ideal-scope

and here:

https://www.pricescope.com/journal/what-aset-reveals-ideal-scope-does-not

This is potentially an overwhelming amount of information - so If you don't want to wade into the deep end of that pool, simply post the images here and you will get interpreting what you are seeing.

Happy Hunting.
