In a VS2 grade stone it shouldn''t present a problem. The pinpoints are probably only visible using the proper equipment (gemological microscope with darkfield illumination). I have in the past run into stones that were so saturated with pinpoints that it gave the stone a hazy overall appearance so if you do not see this hazy appearance when comparing it to other diamonds then you should be just fine.Date: 5/15/2006 2:33:30 PM

Its a VS2 grade. The plot shows some pinpoints and 1 feather (not near the girdle). And then of course those comments. However, the stone looks 100% eyeclean to me. Even with a loup I can only see the feather (white) and not the pinpoints.
Should an untrained eye be able to see pinpoints with a 10x loup? Or are they so small that you need a higher than 10x loupe to see them?
It is a very pretty stone. I''m just concered about all the pinpoints on the plot, the comments, and VS2. I have never bought below a VS1 before.
Sometimes, a VS2 type white feather is preferable near the girdle..., and even more preferable just underneath the girdle on the pavilion side...Date: 5/15/2006 2:33:30 PM
