Pink Tourmaline or Pink Sapphire, help please...

Hello,

a friend gifted me this stone, can't really recognize what it is, a pink sapphire or pink tourmaline... the more research I did the colour is more recognicient to a sapphire piece, could you identify this purplish pink stone?

Honestly, if you are going to trade in coloured stones then you ought to sign up for some classes and invest in some gemmological equipment.

You can't tell from a photograph whether this is tourmaline or sapphire. You need to buy a refractometer which will tell you in around 5 seconds.

great advice, thanks. Difficult to enrol on those classes, the place currently I am doesn't offer anything like those, though will invest on the equipments.
