Pink Topaz 3 Stone CADs from Whiteflash - Opinions Please!!

So excited, CADs are here and at first glance, I love them. Here is the original thread and pictures of my stone:

My requests were for a custom three stone ring, double claw prongs for the center stone. Small brilliant cut traps flanking the center stone. squared 3mm shank.

What do you guys think??

If you are happy that is the only thing that matters. I do think the side stones might be a bit too small for me, but you said you wanted them small and it looks like WF has followed your instructions nicely!

Your stone is just so elegant that it really does not need much in the way of embellishment; the small side diamonds set it off perfectly and I think it will be a gorgeous ring. Nice job!

Elegant & classical are the words! I love it (& I'm not usually a fan of white metals)! The setting shows off the color & cut of your stone beautifully.

that was the first thing I thought,too- the side stones seemed a tad small

I actually really like the proportions of center and sides - your center absolutely steals the show, so the tiny sides really just minimize the harsh change from stone to setting, and add just a touch more sparkle

I actually do like the smaller sides and they don't look out of proportion - it's an easy, classical design!!! It'll be gorgeous!

If it were me, I would have them make the side stones a bit larger....
I have a nice large asscher cut Aqua in a white gold setting with side diamonds that are baguettes...
JUST EXACTLY what I wanted
But now that I have had the ring for awhile, I DO wish that my side diamonds
were large traps, rounds, pears, I don't know, something
instead of baguettes because I think my larger center stone
could handle something a bit bigger proportion-wise, and I
would like that better.
That's just me.

I am another who thinks the traps are too small, almost not noticeable at all that it is a 3 stone ring. If the width remains the same but the overall height is extended a little, then it will still allow the topaz to stand out AND look like a 3 stone ring. Also, the prongs don't look very claw-like to me, but I think CADs are like that, are they not? I'm sure WF will sharpen them up in the finishing stages.

Hi Chrono, it's funny you say that about the prongs,
I can remember thinking that the prongs on a CAD of mine
looked like "Billy Goat Horns"
They turned out so nice a sharp and pointy in the end !!!! Ha

Thanks everyone for your comments, I really appreciate them.

I know the side stones are really small, and Whiteflash actually tried to convinve me to go slighty larger, but Yssie nailed it exactly - I just wanted a little bit of extra sparkle (which is why I went with brilliant traps instead of step cut traps) and I wanted to ease the transition from stone to setting. I shouldn't even really call it a 3 stone ring, it's more of a diamond accent ring, but the 3 stone makes my hubby feel better (it's a 10 year Anniverary ring so I convinved him to up the budget for the whole past, present, future thing!!)

I also had concerns about the prongs, and they assured me that the CADs make them look large and bulky, but they will indeed be delicate, sharp and pointy. I really hope that is the case, as I really stressed the split claw prongs as non negotiable.

I think the ring is perfect. The center stone is so beautiful that I would not want too much to distract from it. With the double claw prongs and the small side stones I think the ring is very balanced and beautiful

Boy, I think that ring is beautiful!! I love the way the topaz takes center stage. However, I do think the traps could be larger to give just to showcase that gorgeous stone a little more.

Larger traps would definitely change the look of the ring, which could be good or bad, depending on what the OP's vision is for her ring. And it would certainly change the price, too, so it always amuses me a bit when we are all blithely spending other people's money .
