Hello everyone - -

I am looking for some help in finding a vendor that could create a pink sapphire ring with surrounding diamonds (yes, like the princess diana/kate ring) but in a size and price range that a mere motal like myself could afford. there is a beauty on NSC site for $83,500. That style, with nice larger diamonds in relation to a center stone of 2-3 cts. who would be my best bet for a project like this?

Thanks

I would suggest finding the center stone first and then having the ring created based on the stone. There are many jewelers who could make a simple style ring such as that.
What color pink are you after?
Heliotrope? Raspberry? Pink Ice?

What is your price range for the stone?
The setting?

Oval 1: http://www.ajsgem.com/sapphire/pink-sapphire/pink-sapphire-1.3-carats.html
Oval 2- great color nice faceting thought it is smaller then the 2-3 cts you had mentioned http://www.ajsgem.com/sapphire/pink-sapphire/pink-sapphire-0.57-carats.html-0

Now this oval is a spinel I love! Great color, super faceting pattern: http://www.ajsgem.com/gemstones/spinel/spinel-3.11-carats.html
Oval Spinel #2: http://www.ajsgem.com/gemstones/spinel/spinel-1.10-carats.html
Lighter Pink #3: http://www.ajsgem.com/gemstones/spinel/spinel-1.01-carats.html-3

Cokitty -

thank you so much for your fast reply. I think the color I am looking for is sometimes referred to as ceylon (a lighter pink)

Ceylon indicates the origin of the stone (Sri Lanka).

I agree that it will probably be easiest to find the center stone with the pink color you like, then find a jeweler. You can also do it the other way around--finding a setting then the gem, but then you will be limited to stones that fit that setting.

For colored stones, there's a list of vendors here:

I think Simply Sapphires is popular here (http://www.simplysapphires.com/), but I've never used them.

If you would like a precision cut stone, you can look at the following websites and contact the following vendors from that list:
http://www.precisiongem.com
http://www.whitesgems.com/
http://www.torraca.net
http://www.acstones.com/
http://www.customgemstones.com/
http://www.finewatergems.com/
http://www.mastercutgems.com/

As for the custom setting, I think almost any vendor can do a standard Diana/Kate ring. Let us know your price range, metal preferred, and if you it matters to you if it is machine made through CAD or hand carved wax, hand-forged, or if you have no preference.

Cokitty -

The color of the 1.14 ct is close to what I am looking for. I would like the length of the stone to be 8-9mm

Thanks so much for your interest and help!

If you are still looking for pink sapphire from Ceylon, I'd recommend looking through their website. Their prices are good and they are easy to work with. If you decide to buy, ask for a hand photograph, though. Only because I have no experience with returns to Sri Lanka.

Hi Crasru" Just asking..... I was wondering if you had purchased from
this vendor, or has anyone else?
Their prices are awfully (too?) good, and the stones look very colorful / vibrant.......
Are they pretty compliant with photographing hand shots?
Are the web photos pretty much right-on?
