I need some info on these stones. I know they are very rare and expensive. Are they graded the same with the basic 4C''s and does the depth, symmetry, polish and all still stand as well? I guess I should ask if they come in all the fancy shapes as well as round. Do they? Also approximately how much would a 2 carat any shape be with moderately good specs?

Thanks

Prices for a two carat pink diamonds can range from $36,000.00 for a light pink to $300,000 and more for an intense pink.
Pink diamonds are usually cut for maximum weight retention and max color retention.
The are found in all the popular shapes

Pinks come in all shapes and sizes. They are all rare and expensive. You can get a full diamond grading report just like the ones we all see or you can get just a color report.
Most of them just have a color report. The color alone is the driving force for the price paid.

According to The Guide a 2ct VS Fancy Light Pink would cost
$35-43k per carat. A Fancy Pink would cost $75-100k per carat. A Fancy Intense Pink would be 40%-50% over the Fancy Pink. If it is 2ct VVS - $100-135k pc. If I1 $30-4k per carat.

Back in the 70's I helped do an appraisal on a piece of jewelry that had a 32ct Fancy Pink pear shape and a 5ct Fancy Intense Yellow round. I wonder where that piece is now and how much it is worth? Probably around $12,000,000.

Enough that if you have to ask, you can't afford it.

Maybe when the fad wears off (say, after Ben and J.Lo. get divorced in a couple of years) the prices will come down a little.

Wow DB so the cheapest pink diamond around 2c would be around $70k? Sheesh! Definitely NOT worth it....pink diamonds are cute but in a girly kind of way. Not worth that kind of $$!

Get one of those hot orange synthetics that Rich posted about the other day. Fireeeee!

Thank you for the info. I happen to like the light pinks ( thank God ) those intense darker pink prices are insane. Even if I had the cash wouldn't do it.

I got interested in them when I saw a fake princess cut pink sapphire ring flanked by two trillion cut diamonds. It was very pretty.

Thanks again

You give them a few years? What an optimist you are!

National Geographic has this evidence against this kangaroo jack.

Well, I happened to see her ring in person a few months before Ben bought it. Unless she has no soul, she'll give him a couple years for it.

Might as well just get a pnk gem stone. I did see a really cute ring with a large emerald cut diamond center and tiny pale pink diamonds all around it that was really cute though.
Did J.Lo get a pink diamond?

I'm not into the emeralds. I like the blue sapphires though.

Yeah J lo got a pink diamond and he paid through the nose for it too. I doubt they even make it to the altar. If they do I give it three months.

Because of its significance, experts from The Steinmetz Group took 20 months to cut it.
