Pillbox,lotus or other? Please help me set my stone

Hi!
I would actually be knowledgeable about this subject if I paid attention but my honest confession is that I stay away from colored stones because I almost drop dead of envy at all of the beautiful stones here.

I want to finally set my sapphire but the setting I chose is going to a future tsav.

The challenge: My sapphire is a bit of a strange size: 5.96x 5.37x 3.22. It has a sizable window but I still think it''s pretty. I want to set it in an inexpensive silver setting so I can finally enjoy it. I''m thinking either HOW lotus or pillbox. I''m open to all suggestions (even east to west).

I think a lotus would be great and actually looks better with stones set E/W (look at Sally''s site and you''ll see all the E/W lotuses). Your stone appears to be a "fat" oval to my eyes, so it would probably be fine either way. Pillbox would be OK too, but I''m much more a fan of the lotus!

Your stone is of a lovely color. I''m still waiting for my lotus, but I do have a pillbox and one pillbox style ring with prongs and can say I really like them. For your stone I would be leaning toward the lotus because you can see more of the stone. Check out the sold items in the Heart of Water Etsy shop and you can see lots of different styles that they make. There''s a lot of options to play with.

Of the two I''d go with a lotus, but I think it wouldn''t be a bad idea to go with a semi-bezel for this one, due to an unusual shape (as some would say, roval). A north/south semi bezel could make it seem longer and thinner, by an optical illusion.
