Hi there! I am relatively new to Pricescope but started my first post a week or so ago regarding my attempts to "hint" to my husband for a 10th anniversary e-ring and wedding band upgrade. After not so subtly ignoring my first attempts at bringing it up, we finally had a real chat about it ( I cornered him!) and he has agreed to let me look around for ideas...so we''ll see.
I currently own a 1 carat pear platinum tiffany solitaire. Very simple. My hubby gave me a "wrap" that fits around it for our 5th anniversary which has 6 small diamonds totalling .75 carat. The wrap never stays in place and has caused some rub-damage to several of the solitaire prongs...
I have done some price-shopping for loose stones with the 4c''s characteristics I like and I think for my upgrade II am aiming for something in the 2 - 2.5 carat range, probably an oval or round brilliant. I realize I should probably settle on the stone first, but I am already searching high and low for settings that I like..or hopefully love. So far, I have only seen parts of different settings I like so it is possible I will end up going custom, using the shank style of one ring with the head/prong style of another, etc...but my question is this:
Do any of you own or have pictures of an e-ring solitaire with a pave shank worn with an eternity style wedding band with prong-set stones larger than the pave stones? I love the look of pave, and might like a pave shank for my e-ring, but would also like to use the 6 small stones from my wrap to make an eternity band (or semi-eternity band -haha-it doesn''t have to wrap all the way around) for my wedding band. Or, on the other hand, would it look better to use 3 small stones on either side of the solitaire and have a pave wedding band? OR, would pave stones look weird beside slightly larger prong-set stones?
Any thoughts or pictures to illustrate this?? Thanks! I am having a tough time picturing it..
