Hi, does anyone of you have a 4 prongs solitaire setting (similar to picture below, knife edge or not) and not mind posting some pictures (especially showing the side). It will be best if you got it from JA. I will greatly appreciate. Thanks.

This is the sample of the setting I got. It doesn't look right to my unexperienced eyes . Does it look OK to you? boredstiff's picture looks better to me than the sample I got. Maybe it is unfinished or the lighting of the photo??? It is for a 1.11 carat stone.

boredstiff: do the prongs of your ring meet together at the base of the head?

your first picture is a computer rendered image I believe, not an actual real life photo. the ring just looks dark because of lighting - what metal is it? The prongs aren't as "soft" looking either...

It's platinum. Do you mean by "soft" looking? Thanks.

Yes all the prongs come together at the bottom part of the shank. It's almost like the band is soldered next to the head, where they are flush at the bottom.

====V==== (where the V is raised until flush with the bottom part of the = )

By the way, WhiteFlash apparently outsources the 4 prong tiffany to stuller, which is a pretty common manufacturer. See if the inside of the band has an "S" stamp.

really looks the same to me and I highly doubt this setting is custom, Most of these settings that you see are ordered from a casting house such as stuller.com adwar.com uniquesettings.com or others unless they specifically state that it is "custom" made. Difference is how the jeweler finishes off your prongs and shank but your picture of the sample and the computer rendering, really looks the same to me, the diamond size may change the look a bit on the prong thickness.
