Here it is! A bit overdue. I got engaged 3 days before Christmas (12.22). Wedding plans are in August 2010.

Details:
3.3 ct Round Brilliant Fancy Cut Untreated Ceylon Taaffeite VS1 (mauve, lavender colour)

It was mined and cut in Sri Lanka

I was worried the mount was too high. This is actually the customized lower profile.

The purple color is more saturated under incandescent light. It''s more pink purple.

I wish I had a pro-quality camera and capture the ''fire'' of the taaffeite. It has so many facets on the surface, small table though. There are facets on the side which make it even sparkle more. Initially I wanted a solitaire but the side white sapphire pears accompany it very well. Thanks for letting me share!

I went to 2 separate jewelers who were dedicated enough to find a jewelry quality taaffeite. There seems to be alot on ebay that are under 1ct and are rough, poorly faceted. So finding this one so fast was very fortunate for us.

I was contemplating on a pad sapphire instead but the color that I want is very very delicate. It will probably take years to find that perfect pad sapphire hue. My 5 yr anniversary ring it will be!
