I totally agree! If you get tired of the halo, get a gemstone for the halo setting and get a new simple setting!

Oh cool, good idea!

To me there is no right or wrong. Set it how you most love, and enjoy it. You may never want to change it and if you do, it is not a bad thing if you can do so. But you cannot go wrong with such a gorgeous stone!

Beeeeeeeeeeeeeeeautiful stone, delicious!

I wish my camera did for my hands what it does for my diamond. Seriously, I''m only 29, why do my hands look like I''m 80? I wear sunscreen and use lotion. I can''t believe it. Can I get a hand lift? Just kidding, but if someone knows what would make my hands look a littl nicer that would be awesome.

Hey, I am 42! I HATE the way my hands look in photos. Hopefully in real life they are not that gross! I am sure yours are fine, pictures bring out the worst.

DF, your hands look great, that''s why I''m asking, silly. No, my hands look ok in real life but...ff still thinks I have old lady hands and in old lady he means like 90.

Sun screen hand cream is a must, and I even like the ones with the natural lightening properties.

I also use Argan oil on my cuticles, and try to use hand cream a few times a day. I have NO wrinkles but I freckle easily and they look like age spots!

I think it would be great to have a simple setting but with a touch of pave

Bloomin Flip - its fabulous!!!

Its a stonking big stone too, really gorgeous, can''t wait to see it all finished in its new home.

You need to come visit here and add it to the step cut collection so everyone can drool over it.

Thank you all! I think I've seen and looked for every ring on this site for the past two years. It gave me some great info to know what I was looking for. I knew the minute I saw the diamond that this was the one. I actually saw NO other stones in person. I guess I didn't need to. I was in the diamond district today and it made me realize again that I love the choice we made.

Dani...girl I've been searching all your threads for pics of your ring. I found them but it was a little hard. We will have to have an EC get together once the ring is on my hand. Also, I've been meaning to ask you what did you decide to do about your setting? We are having Mark do our setting as well. Anything I should know? I really want a dainty classy setting but not too boring, you know. FF thinks that too many diamonds will overwhelm the stone so I'm going for small, small, pave. Anyway, thank you.

Diamondfan...I know...I was hoping that you would like it.

Seriously, you guys have been the best. I'm glad I was able to capture some good pics today. I really didn't realize how hard it is.

Hi EL,

I know, I know....I have such crappy pics on here of my ring, and everyone gets on my case about it....and rightfully so!!! I am such a bad PS-er!!!!

They are sooo bad, and I havent taken any new ones in a few yrs...I REALLY need to get on that!!!!!! Im horrible!!!!

Well, as you know, we worked with Mark and purchased my stone and setting from him....My stone is a 1.7 ct G/VS1- I love it so much, its such a pretty stone with TONS of fire. Its set in a platinum solitaire setting with a pave basket and double claw prongs. I wear it with 2 pave bands, and even though my e-ring doesnt sit flush with my bands, I still really like the look alot. And, even though I love my set as it is now, I do think I will be (hopefully!) upgrading my EC within the next few yrs....And then I will probably do something different for the setting...maybe a three stone? Im not sure. When/if that time comes, we will totally be going back to Mark...we just love him! Isnt he great to work with? You are really in good hands...not only does he pick the best rocks, but his custom work is excellent!!! You are going to be sooo happy!!!! BTW, your fututre setting sounds gorgeous!!!

If you have any other questions, let me know...We definitely need to have a gtg when your ring is done!!! There are plenty of NYC/NJ, etc. PS-ers that would love to get together!!!!! Best of luck!!!

Stunning stone EL :) and I think you have nice hands definitely not old lady ones :)

Thank you, thank you, thank you!!! Deelight, thank you for making my day!

Dani, seriously, Mark if fabulous. I keep telling him that he needs to get real pictures up on his site so that people can see how great his custom work is. He really took everytihng that myself and ff said in and I know he'll turn around a great design for us. I'm really excited and I would love for us to get together. Do you live in the area?

ECQ...I'll take that as I have great picture taking skills. No seriously, I was plesently surprised when we first saw the stone. No joke, the steps are beautiful.

Futuremrs...I'm not really sure what you are asking.

Po...you are awesome...I've been hanging out in that thread a lot latley trying to get ideas for my setting. When its done I'll put it in there. I put one pic of the stone for you.

Thank you all for your kind words...you're making my diamond feel so special. Actually, FF is thrilled with it and that makes me so happy too. I'm so thankful that I opened my mind to consider a J. I went into this thinking I wouldn't go below a G.

HOLY MOLEY, that is just a STUNNING stone and it will be HUGE on your small finger!!! I can''t wait to see it set and see the hand shots. Tell your BF that we say he must hurry up on the proposal!

Wow, congratulations - it''s an amazing EC! I can''t wait to see the finished product, but I''m loving these unset pics!

Well, I actually think that he was planning to propose sooner rather than later however, I don''t think that the ring is going to be finished before the jewlery industry takes their "holiday" here for two weeks. So, unless it is done by next week then there is no way that it is happening till after the second week in July. Oh well, the price we pay for something nice.

I''m totally showing him this post though!
