HI! I wanted to give you guys the pics that I promised today. I had to go to ERD to meet with Mark and I got to snap some pics of my diamond. It still has to be set and then my bf, bless his heart, will hold on to it till the proposal. I don''t know when that is going to be so these may be the only pictures I have for awhile.

I was practicing taking pictures with my sony camera. Well, I forgot it but thankfully I had my canon in my purse so it saved the day. Some of the pictures are a little blurry.

OH MY, you don''t know how happy it makes me to hear you like it! I''m so excited...

Holy crap! That thing a monster!

Thanks so much for sharing!

Did you pick out a setting or is FI surprising you? That is a Beee-you-ti-ful stone

Oh MY, it''s just gorgeous, dying here!!!! Love it!!!

I love your stone! It''s a fine choice!

How could I forget the stats?!! Here ya go:

Carat Weight 2.75
Color J
Clarity VS1
Depth 66.1
Table 63
Symmetry Very Good
Certificate GIA
Polish Excellent
Girdle Slightly Thick
Culet None
Fluorescence None
Measurements 9.01x7.02x4.64

FF and I are designing the setting together. We went today but we aren''t quite sure what we are going to do yet. We have a CAD in the process but...we could be making changes. I have been dead set on a halo forever but FF isn''t that crazy about it. I''m trying to make it small enough that it gives off a little sparkle around the edge but is barley there. However, seeing the "fake setting" on my hand today I started to really like the simple look. The thing is, I''m not a simple girl so that look really isn''t me. However, I want the stone to be the focus and I''m not a huge fan of baguetts. So...I guess we will have to see. Worse comes to worse we''ll put it in a temp setting.

I forgot to add that I think it looks alot bigger in the pictures than it does in person. LOL, thats obvious but I seriously didn''t think it looked THAT big in person.

Who are you kidding girlie? 2.75 is a monster

Thank you all! I think I''ve seen and looked for every ring on this site for the past two years. It gave me some great info to know what I was looking for. I knew the minute I saw the diamond that this was the one. I actually saw NO other stones in person. I guess I didn''t need to. I was in the diamond district today and it made me realize again that I love the choice we made.

Dani...girl I''ve been searching all your threads for pics of your ring. I found them but it was a little hard. We will have to have an EC get together once the ring is on my hand. Also, I''ve been meaning to ask you what did you decide to do about your setting? We are having Mark do our setting as well. Anything I should know? I really want a dainty classy setting but not too boring, you know. FF thinks that too many diamonds will overwhelm the stone so I''m going for small, small, pave. Anyway, thank you.

Diamondfan...I know...I was hoping that you would like it.

Seriously, you guys have been the best. I''m glad I was able to capture some good pics today. I really didn''t realize how hard it is.

OMG, how could I not?!

How is that going to be set?

Holy crap!!!! Did I read that correctly...that is a J???? I hope my I ACA looks that white..that is beautiful

YUP, J it is! After seeing some of the lovely J''s on this site I decided to have a look myself. There aren''t a lot of stones this size available and it just happened to be good timing that we found this one. Oh, and it was also good that Emerald Cut Quest gave me the heads up for it. I was looking at 3ct+ but this one faced up better than some of those. Not to mention it had the best proportions on paper. I have to say that from the top down you can''t see the warmth, however if you look at it upsidedown or on the side you can see a hint of warmth but I actually prefered that over the one set E that I saw. I think its a matter of personal opinion but of course I''m going to say that cause I have a J.

I''m sure your stone is beautiful.

So the setting (if we like the cad) is going to be: bead set, one row of micro pave, halo on an angle, prongs and basket all pave but curved in with double claw prongs. I know its a little hard to imagine but I''m going for simple but a little extra bling. Hopefully its not too overwhelming. I''m talking less than 1.8mm (maybe smaller) on the halo and probably about 2.0mm on the band.

If its too much we may toss it and start from scratch. I''m a little weary at this point. I''m afraid that I won''t like the halo in a few years but I don''t know why cause I''ve always wanted one.

BTW...my ring size is a 5. I got kind of lucky and my fingers are pretty thin, all the bulk is on the bottom. Its weird but it makes my finger look smaller than it really is.

This sort of looks like a halo without being in your face.

Wowza, gorgeous stone!!! I love the cut of the stone, I am mezmorized!! I think micro pave would be a beautiful way to set your stone, but you definitely don''t *need* a halo with a large stone like yours. However, if you have been dreaming about it for years, it''s probably the right setting for you! I agree with you to keep it thin dainty.

Yeah, its weird, I really like the look of little tiny diamonds next to my giant EC. I don''t really want anymore finger coverage but I do want to draw the eye into the stone and I personally get that effect from looking at really small halo''s. For some reason when the stones are bigger I can''t decide where to look. Hopefully it turns out as I invisioned it in my mind. The only thing I''m concerned about is how small the band is. I want a thin band, however, I don''t want it to bend over time. I''ve thought of a couple solutions but I''m not sure how I''m going to solve that one yet. Stay tuned.

I LOVE your stone omg! Emerald cuts have a special spot im my heart and I really love the dimensions of yours - almost square, but not quite. And the tiny halo sounds amazing, that''s exactly what I love, too. Something about all that tiny sparkle really draws your eyes in.

Oooh, what a delicious EC! Congratulations on such a beautiful find! Your setting sounds wonderful.
