Your pieces are so nice. Cabochons are so great. I especially like your lapis earrings. They are so bright and such a rich blue. The vertical orientation of the malachite variation on your pear is really neat too!

Love to see diamond people venture out (:
My first loves were lapis and malachite.
It all started when I was a young child and I found
a large women's ring in silver with the most beautiful cabochon
of lapis lazuli on a bible in a hotel room my family booked
- it was such a bright dreamy crisp azurite filled blue with specks
of pyrite and I was completely hooked.
I still have the ring to this day and she fits (:

I'm impartial to your malachite.
I think taking her out of the setting and
bezeling her in 18k yellow gold would be fab!

Have fun exploring and playing with color and
please do keep posting your purchases!

The 18k yellow gold Paloma Picasso sugar stacks ring is a sky blue topaz-- those pics are the same ring, but it looks way different in different lighting sources ( from an almost water-y light blue to a deeper hue).

Re: yellow gold bezel for malachite: that WOULD be awesome. But I have several other modest gemstone projects in the works, and I'm operating on a tight budget ( which is why the 3 ring stackable colored gemstone sets I'm in the process of putting together will be in copper and sterling silver only in order to keep the prices down).

oooo those lapis earrings!!! :kiss2: :kiss2: :kiss2: :kiss2: :kiss2: they're beautiful and so even! Lapis is so underrated but good even stuff can be so hard to find .

I think I'll have to find a suite to purchase as I likely won't find any to match the stone I have.

Thanks! Yep, all those cabs are from GemsEMPORIO on Etsy ( he's a really awesome seller from India--- he even sends pictures right before it's time to ship 'em to make sure you are satisfied with the color and clarity). Those are my favorites, too, along with that fantastic Ethiopian opal with the great play of color.

I just noticed that the picture of the Swiss blue topaz cab wasn't included. I listed it, but I must have cropped it out by accident. :confused:o_O:razz:

Also: the 18 inch 14-karat rose gold light rope chain arrived today, so I added the 14 karat gold 10 ×8 mm oval rose quartz cabochon pendant to it.

Wowee! You been on a roll! May I ask who you are using to set your cabs? The chryso are my favs and so lovely! And how long did it take for you to receive the shipment from India? I mean lots of people here are having a hard time (including my family) receiving packages...so curious on how long it take for you to receive them.

Keep it coming!

Ahh Malachite, really glad to see some here.

When I first began learning how to cut cabochons I absolutely loved cutting Malachite. It was relatively straightforward to inspect, easy to work with and took a very nice polish. I should probably look at getting some more slabs of it to cut for fun and for when I am teaching.

10×8mm coober pedy natural Australian opal pendant... a pair of coober pedy 7×5mm oval Australian opals with real diamond accents.... and a 9×7mm coober pedy Australian opal ring with real diamond accents, all in 14k yellow gold ( it's not a very good picture, but the play of color on these stones is actually quite good for the price). icm_fullxfull.307069944_4abcednfuf28o8084swk.jpg
