Thanks! no, a fellow out in Colorado put it together for me at a really decent price (I purchased the gemstone on etsy, and sent it to him already drilled and ready for the setting). He is the guy who suggested super glue. he does really nice custom jewelry work at great prices, so I have my fingers crossed he knows what he's talking about. He said to put super glue on the eye-post itself and the bottom part of the cap. I'm getting ready to try my hand at making solid 14 karat yellow gold pendants using natural semi-precious gemstones that have been pre-drilled. Kinda nervous about it, but also excited.

Wowee! You been on a roll! May I ask who you are using to set your cabs? The chryso are my favs and so lovely! And how long did it take for you to receive the shipment from India? I mean lots of people here are having a hard time (including my family) receiving packages...so curious on how long it take for you to receive them.

Sorry, I haven't been online very much over the past few months, and I totally didn't see your question. As I'm sure you already know, the mail is running torturously slow even domestically nowadays. Oof. But I have one seller in India in particular who always manages to get the package to me within 15 days or so (and he only charges a flat $3 for shipping), however. Plus he does free drilling service. He goes by the name gemstopper on Etsy. His semi-precious cabochons have good color and really nice high domes, and he will also do custom cutting at good prices.

Well it's lovely & so beautifully simple!

& truly don't be nervous! I've made several gemstone pendants & pearl earrings this way and I've yet to have one fail me. Something about a gemstone or pearls rough drilled surface in there that really helps the super glue grip to the bail!

If it turns out that you hate working with super glue you can always make some earrings and pendants by purchasing vertical-fully drilled through gems and purchasing solid gold or silver eye pins to put through and twist at the top around the earrings hooks or make your own bail with the wire on top! I've also made many this way and it's worked great also! Although you definitely need a good set of basic small round nose pliers for this method!

Its really fun to make something that's technically fine jewelery and make something you're really proud of!
