Hi all,

I had recently purchased a stone from an etsy vendor at a very low price. The ring was no good and the seller refused to refund unless I paid a restocking fee. I am still waiting for PayPal to make a decision. But in the meantime, figured it wouldn’t hurt to learn more abt diamonds.

I would like to purchase a 5 stone from ID jewelry, with 40 pointers with a low profile setting. I’ve asked for GIA certified stones and they were kind enough to provide certificates. At stones this size, what should I be asking for to make a good decision? I am not a diamond expert and am afraid I’ll get stuck with some unsparkly , poor cut diamonds.

Is it necessary to ask for aset and idealscope images? Also, how tight of a range for diameter/ct should I be requesting? Lastly, are all H&A diamonds ideal cut?:confused:

I’d appreciate any advice, thank you!! =)2

If you tell IDJ that pricescope sent you or that you want PS quality stones, you'll get awesomeness! Even for non-pricescopers, IDJ delivers quality products.

H&A doesn't (necessarily) mean ideal cut, but it would have symmetry better than most.

What size is your finger? Have you tried on any 5-stone bands with 40 pointers? Just to be sure you have enough horizontal real estate going across, so they don't crush into your adjacent fingers. Especially cuz you mention wanting low profile.

yes, I’ve been seeing such lovely rings from iD jewelry! Can’t wait to have one as well!
I wear a size 5 but plan to get 5.5 since my fingers swell. I did try 30 pointers but none of the stores around me had a 2ctw in stock. :cry2: The 30 pointers felt kinda small and I could see some metal on the sides so I figured 40 might be alright.

Do you think its too much to ask for idealscope/aset for pointers?

Now, I cannot comment on another vendor's goods, but as a general consumer question absolutely I would want IS or ASET (or both) especially on 40 pointers! No matter who you buy from. Now, eight pointers... probably not. But certainly of any stone that is papered.

I received some images from the vendor and was wondering if anyone could provide info on whether these are good candidates . They are all Gia certified 0.40ct range in g color, 4 si1 and 1 vs2.
The Hca scored under 2 for all. A little worried about stone 2, would it affect performance?

Many thanks!
