I've been shopping for the perfect diamond for some time now and I'm about a day away from purchasing one. It has to be an IF diamond due to my obsession with perfection. From that I have located an F diamond which I think will give me the perfect diamond I've been looking for. It has to be perfect ;-)

Would somebody with a little knowledge in these things care to have a look at the GIA cert. and Idealscope and let me know if it is just that. I haven't the slightest clue... :D

I really appreciate it!!! F-IF-Ideal-Cut-0.72-Carat-Round-Diamond.jpg 1390388id.jpg

Thank-you all for your reply's! I really appreciate it. It sure is intimidating to compare all the diamonds out there.

I've seen some idealscopes where they are a much darker red. Is this just an issue of the picture or is it sending that much more light back?

probably just different photography setup. don't worry about comparing the color of red/pink...worry more about the amount of white.

So is it worth $5500? :D

I'm not proposing until the summer so it's no rush, I just started looking...

For the specs you posted I absolutely think it's worth that much....

I'm also not proposing for many months, but I already have the ring in hand. Diamonds aren't going to get any cheaper...if you KNOW she's the one, I say buy now. Good luck!

Hello again!

I'm just getting ready to purchase this stone but then I fool around with some of your tools and I find this:

1234345567
Length:5.75
Width:5.80
Depth:3.55
Total Depth:61.47%
Table percent:56
Crown height:15.5
Girdle (from):Thin
Girdle (to):Medium
Polish:Excellent / Very Good
Symmetry:Excellent / Very Good
Crown angle:34.5
Pavilion depth:40.8

Tab Percent: 1A
Crown Angle: 1A
Crown Height: 1A
Pavilion Depth: 3B
Girdle: 1A
Depth: 1A
Polish: 1A
Symmetry: 1A
TotalGrade: 3A

A total grade of 3A is not good am I right? Should I reconsider this diamond???

I think you entered in the pavilion angle instead of the pavilion depth percentage.

do you have the GIA report number?

Phew! You're totally right! Kinda made me panic a little there, I didn't want a US domestic average cut!

Thanks a bunch, I really think my mind is at ease now.

I look at the diamond as a representation of my character. Though I'd love to go with a D, F clarity, I know that this is about as close as I'm going to get so it's important that everything else is as close to perfect as possible.

I really appreciate the personal work you put in, especially correcting my silly mistake!
