I just pickd up the ring about an hour ago. It is a 1.28, F, VVS1 cut cornered rectangular modified brilliant. It took me a few weeks to pull together the money, but here it is. Hopefully she will love it and say YES!
Here is the plan-
We will walk from the house a few hundred feet down to the beach around sunset. We will walk along the shore for a bit and then I will have us rest for a bit. While we will sit and watch the sun set under the horizon I will hand her a card. Upon opening it she will see that it says Happy 50th Wedding Anniversary. In the card I will write a retrospective of our life together, the wonderful life we shared, the children we raised, the grandchildren, adventures, laughter and the flame of our love still burning after all these years. When she is done, I will ask her to marry me.
First of all my hats off to you on such an elegant ring!!! It is timeless in design and breathtaking all wrapped up in one. Great job!
Secondly, OMG! Your proposal is so sweet. I can not imagine (okay, maybe I am trying really hard
) how thrilled she will be with that proposal. I hope when my man decides to ask me...he'll put as much love into it as you did! Its a lovely idea and will make a great story to tell your kids.
I'm sitting here alone crying. That is one of the sweetest most sentimental things I've read.
That is so heartfelt. Keep that spirit and you will see 50 wonderful years together. Congrats.
I proposed Thursday August 26 at sunrise on Nauset Beach Cape Cod. She was in tears after eeading the card and then I asked. She said YES. So begins our life together.
"The sunshine of my everyday and the moonlight of my everynight"
Oh My God - What a beautiful proposal. I'm looking forward to my 25th anniversary to a really wonderful man but that proposal idea really is so special. Looking back from my perspective of 25 years being married - that's just totally perfect. That's what marriage is all about - the history of your lives together. To capture that in your proposal is such a lovely idea. Best of luck and love to both of you!!
I was in tears when I read your proposal and my husband of 10years was wondering what the heck I was crying about. So of course, I had him read your post and he wished he just let me cry and not asked why. I had to pick up his confidence level and told him that it doesn't matter how he had proposed, what matters is how happy we've been together!
Of course, deep down, it would have been really be nice to have a memorable proposal, but that's just my evil twin talking.
Congratulations and best wishes to both you. May you both have a happy, long lives together!
