Are you sure you are capturing lights that are reflecting off the diamond? Because in the pics you posted, it looks like there''s multiple images of the ring. That happens when your hands are not steady while holding the camera or if you have your camera in a setting to take pictures in low lighting. I think that''s why you are only getting the pictures in candle lighting.
They are cool looking shots tho as far as the movement of lights.

Looks like 'time lapse' photography? Like where the headlights of a car are photographed to make them appear as a stream of light, as the car moves?
Of course, ANY photograph is of light leaving a surface - that's how we see colors. But then, I was never good at physics.
