although we are working to perfect this technology
early signs show improvements.we also have been able to capture
fire leaving the surface of the diamond
we have only been able to detect either of these in candle light
interesting shots

Are you sure you are capturing lights that are reflecting off the diamond? Because in the pics you posted, it looks like there's multiple images of the ring. That happens when your hands are not steady while holding the camera or if you have your camera in a setting to take pictures in low lighting. I think that's why you are only getting the pictures in candle lighting.

They are cool looking shots tho as far as the movement of lights.

the photo''s I posted earlier were all
taken as a reflection in the mirror with only
candle light. this is why they look like double exposure. this next picture has 2 people standing in the photo. can you tell what color shirts they are wearing.the reflectivity of a mirror polish on a diamond.

These images look slightly like the aperture setting on the camera was set for low light (meaning it was open for a long period of time) and that the slight vobrations of a hand, or the moving of the camera created this effect. It''s the same effect that can makes a stream of water look like its moving ... just a thought.

my wifes shirt was pink
and my shirt was blue. its amazing how well this diamond shows these.on the following day we took more photo''s with blue and purple shirts.in the fire photo''s I created fire with candles,the lights were turned off.We put the diamond close to a large mirror and then photographed
the results.the photos were taken of the mirror and not the diamond.the
trails show multiple facet reflections. this shows that diamonds can create illutions according to there surrondings.nothing fancy just an illution. dhog

Of course, ANY photograph is of light leaving a surface - that''s how we see colors. But then, I was never good at physics.
 
Cool pictures regardless of whether they have captured phantom light or not. But, I do have a question.........were you handholding the camera, or was the camera on a tripod or fixed surface. If you were handholding, the "fire" is likely some movement due to the the length of time between the shutter closing in relatively low light. Still, way cool pictures and thank you for sharing them with us..........

A tripod was used and yes this is time lapse photography.You are correct about colors also. Without light we have nothing to look at in a diamond. But
with light we have one of the most beautiful illutions created in the mirrors of the diamond.We as humans are into illutions and the photos that I posted on PS in this thread and the other thread are examples of the perfection of illutions.Who ever would of thought that the human mind could be tricked so easily.this photo was taken with very little light.This diamond stuff is addicting and bad on your pocket book. anyone wishing to copy or use any of the photos I posted feel free to do so as long as they are not used in tv advertisment. gone to see a shrink about this stuff with photo's in hand

such cool photos! i love taking pics of diamonds. even though i haven''t ever been able to capture that special fire that seems to be so alive in a well cut stone, the pics do convey a different view that the eye/mind can''t comprehend. it''s fun. thanks for sharing your pics dhog!
