I have an odd actually rather plain 5 mm round "n"'sh color I1 diamond that I paid no attention to until I was experimenting with a black light and determined its phosphorescence. It lasts over five minutes. Is this rare? Does it effect value? Interesting anyway.

No... I'm talking about phosphorescence...

This is why I'm not in physics hahaha. My bad.

Interesting. So you're saying the stone emits the light over time post UV exposure?

ETA: previous thread on this: https://www.pricescope.com/community/threads/my-diamond-is-not-only-fluorescent-but-also-a-phosphorescent.147232/

Uncommon, apparently.

Yours has something in common with the Hope diamond apparently!

Can you take a video of it? I'd love to see what it looks like.

I found my diamond did the same thing a few years ago and even posted about it! Here is a picture of mine....

Is it possible it's a chameleon diamond?

It is not chameleon. My I phone isn't getting good video...

Cool! I love phos & fluor. I believe it is rare, but I'm not sure how it affects value. If you ever happen to get a good video, please post!

My fluorescent diamonds also phosphoresce. It the excited electrons returning to their ground state. It is a really neat property.
