Finally received my sapphire today after FedEx holding it all weekend and not allowing me to pick it up. As soon as I opened the package, I knew I made the right decision. This is my first lab gemstone and the brightness in the color is exactly what this setting needed. I will be putting the inherited mined sapphire in a Princess Di type halo. It wasn’t a bright enough stone fo a 3 stone and really needs a halo because of the dark center. The mined is just under 5 carats and the new one is 6 carats. We had to do a new CAD for the top. We also tipped the pears up a little higher so they wouldn’t blend into the platinum as much. The whole thing looks so so much brighter...
This is a 12x10 purplish blue lab sapphire that I bought from Debebian’s to go with a setting they made me a few year’s ago. The setting is diamond/platinum with .66 tcw G VS side stones shown with a diamond eternity ring also in platinum with 8 pointer’s (3mm wide). The weather wasn’t great for a video but here are a few pics and a short one. The darkness is just a shadow from my phone.
