Peridot split shank rope ring in a yellow gold Stuller setting

[Stone Hunter]

This stone is a round Peridot purchased from AC Stones. This flawless, 1.28 carats, 6.5 mm stone was cut by Barry Bridgestock. I have set it in a Stuller yellow gold setting. The shank looks a bit like rope but is a smoother finish.

No one gives advice on how to clean peridots! I am still too chicken to clean mine!

I haven't cleaned it yet, other than washing lightly with Dawn. I think the price of Stuller settings varies by jeweler. For 14 K gold I heard $450 at Whiteflash and my local jeweler quoted $350 and that does fluctuate with the price of gold.

Anyone know how much David Klass charges?
