Peppered EC: Am I crazy??

millions of people wear diamonds with eye visible inclusions so no your not crazy.

I love my included beauties but I draw the line at too many inclusions on a step cut, if any. There might only be a few but it'll look like there are more. One big carbon chunk in there too which I am sure you'll see without a loupe on a stone that size.

If you truly love it though, perhaps it's meant to be and no, you're not crazy for loving it. Personally, I'd go under 2 carat for a cleaner EC, or get a true salt and pepper (galaxy) stone.

It’s a lovely diamond but emerald cuts are very unforgiving when it comes to inclusions, especially carbon flecks.
At $15k odd its a lot for an obviously included diamond so I’d say keep looking unless you don’t mind the flecks.
Personally, if you’re going for “flecks” I’d choose a more heavily included diamond Aka “Galaxy diamonds” so the flecks become part of the beauty.

Agreed with @Bron357 you almost need to "lean into" the galaxy look with more deliberate inclusions. EC is also prob worst cut to display inclusions  think radiant hides them best.

Get the EC and name it Gigi Hadid cuz shes pretty and has beauty marks all over, too

Much as I love ECs, the visible inclusions would bother me.

DK :))

Another vote for no. Imo those inclusions distract from the beauty of that emerald cut. But if you love it and feel the price is worth it no one should tell you it’s not right for you. It’s all about how much you love and want this diamond. For me however those inclusions are a deal breaker.

Most certainly noticeable with the naked eye...from space. Sorry, I HAD to....lol!

Step cuts show everything. It’s like looking into an antique mirror; very little clarity, and very dull.
I can see the allure.
Over time, I believe the inclusions will be bothersome, and you will be left wanting.
$15k is a nice chunk to put into a diamond. It should be crisp and clear.
As others mentioned, no one can truly make this choice for you. I have not seen a galaxy EC, so I cannot even advise you to go that direction.
This is a personal decision.
If not for the glaring carbon inclusions, I’d be a fan; it seems well cut. I just can’t get past the obstructive inclusions to really admire the rest of the stone.

You like what you like.

you keep coming back to it for a reason.

yes it’s gunna be noticeable. Woudl that bother YOU? Maybe, maybe not.
Only way to find out is to have it in your hands to see it.

for me, these inclusions would bother me....but if it were heavily discounted, I could possibly get past it...Whom am I kidding-I woudl still not get it.

Another consideration is that its appearance in a photo designed to sell it is not necessarily the same as its appearance in real life. I agree with those who recommend passing on such an obviously included stone.

This is just my opinion but if its an ering upgrade, I'd say no. But as a pendant or other purpose, maybe....

If it is around 9k USD then I may, just may consider it.

DK :))

I kind of really like it. If it had just one or two visible inclusions, they would probably bother me. Having so many visible inclusions is just somehow special. You kind of buy the stone BECAUSE of the inclusions.

No for me. Big stones attract people's eyes and the inclusions are way too obvious. I would never wear it even at home. I would always want my money back

Since you asked...I'll say it! You're crazy!

There are lots of pretty stones close to that size/cost that have decent clarity. If you want something that is salt/peppered perhaps look for something
that is not certed and costs a lot less (my opinion).

Like this one looks like a nice one in the same price range (but I think you already knew there were nice ones out there for $15k)

I have seen a few pretty, heavily included "salt and pepper" stones, but this one isn't one. A no from me on this EC.
