Pendant doesn’t sit flat and it’s driving me up the wall. Ideas?

I never wear it cause it gets on my last nerve. It doesn’t flip all the way, it just tilts.

Here’s a photo of what I mean.

A pendant really needs a flat back to sit flush to the skin. It looks really beautiful but the flipping would drive me crazy too! Have you consulted with a jeweler about a different setting? Hopefully it wouldn't cost too much to make another.

its a very beautiful piece. and even more beautiful on your neckline. Im sorry it tilts like that and doesn't lay right. It would annoy me too. from what i am able to discern from the image, the back is a bit too narrow. im surmising that if the base was of a wider diameter it will likely lay nicely ...

That's not good. Unfortunately, some settings tend to tilt, and the result is not very attractive.

I recall seeing discussions here on PS concerning settings that will sit flush. I'll try to find the thread(s).

@diamondseeker2006 , I believe that you posted something (including photos?) about the style of setting that will sit flush. My apologies if I'm mistaken.

I don't know what to suggest. I love that style, but won't go for one because of the tilting/sticking issue.

Maybe a heavier setting at the bottom as pp suggested? Or bigger stone'?

@winnietucker -

That would send me out of my ever loving!

I think a re-set is in order. Good luck!

Thanks all! I do have a reset planned for the future but was hoping for an easy fix. She’ll just sit until I can reset.

A basket setting with a bale is what I find best, the diamond occasionally twists but there’s no flipping (drives me crazy too with one of my pendants).

A pendant must have a large flat back to sit flat on the skin. Same with studs.

The first is a CVB cad with a bezel, but I am just trying to show the base. The second is a Stuller setting that appears to have a decent base. Can you show us the back of yours?
