Pearl Paradise Color-shifting Freshwater metallic strands?

Re: Pearl Paradise Color-shifting Freshwater metallic strand

*gasp*! I love them! Congratulations :)

Re: Pearl Paradise Color-shifting Freshwater metallic strand

Beautiful Erinl. Hope you love yours like I love mine.

Re: Pearl Paradise Color-shifting Freshwater metallic strand

Just for fun I am adding a few of the color shifts we saw at the Ruckus in July at Pearl Paradise. The huge table in their office was filled with hanks of these beautiful strands.

Re: Pearl Paradise Color-shifting Freshwater metallic strand

My pearls arrived in less than 48 hours - I ordered Tues at 4 pm and they were at my desk at 11 am Thursday - all the way from California to the East - and this was a custom order as I needed length added, as well as matching earrings. I asked the Fedex lady if she would like to see what I bought. She was thrilled, she said, "I never get to see what's in the boxes!" and we oooh-ed and aaaah-ed as I opened my two boxes. The silver pink metallic pearls are STUNNING. Really metallic, satiny, glowing little gems of joy. I put them on and they look amazing. The Fedex lady said this had made her day, as I sent her off with the website link.

Having been a little anxious about shopping online, I was worried about not liking what I ordered. Not a concern - they are what I would have bought if I'd seen them in a store somewhere. They remind me of the satin skirts worn in eighteenth century French paintings of the king's mistress, and also of little pink easter eggs. Very glowy and they do change colour, they were icy pink in morning light, sort of rosy beige in late afternoon, and now they are a lavender blue iced pink, if that makes any sense. T

Very hard to photograph pearls, I have discovered! One coworker spotted them from ten feet away and didn't realize I had just received them. Her boyfriend had bought a white 18" pearl necklace for his daughter for $1000 - so she was quite impressed with my pearl cost. Gave her the website and she is off making a list!

I have to admit it, after work I went to a high-end jeweller's to look at their pearls - they had 18" 7-7.5 mm akoyas (AA, not AAA from what I could tell, but they were not marked as such), and originally wanted 635 and then said they'd do 450. Holy markup, Batman!

I will try to upload my photos within a few days, once I find the cable thingy.

How do you get invited to the PP ruckus?? It looks like the place to be!

Re: Pearl Paradise Color-shifting Freshwater metallic strand

My guess is you email or call PP and ask for an invite :) But it must cost loads - being held at a fancy location, and didn't the owner of PP give each of the attendees a strand of pearls?

It has always been open invitation on the other pearl site. You pay your own lodging and airfare. People can stay wherever they want. But each year there is a hotel that is close to the Friday night social place. Most people pick that hotel of choice for convenience. I did not go the first year. Second year the limo picked us up at the hotel and dropped us off at PP office where the Sat. night party was. If you stay elsewhere you'd have to meet at that hotel if you want to be picked up by the limo. Sunday morning was show-and-tell. People carpool from hotel to PP office on Sunday.

This year Jeremy rented a mansion so we did not have to pay lodging cost http://vulcanestate.com/template/site/index.php?siteno=98

Re: Pearl Paradise Color-shifting Freshwater metallic strand

The "other pearl site" has a ban on my email address, which is upsetting to me because I have never registered there before. Tried to email to figure this out and never got a response. I am definitely not a troll on this or any other forum

Re: Pearl Paradise Color-shifting Freshwater metallic strand

Erinl I would suggest emailing Pearl Paradise with your registration problem with the email.

Pearl Paradise gifted us two strands. A strand of color shift and a strand of AA+ freshwaters and clasp at the pearl restrining class on Saturday. Hisano taught us how to knot using your hands only. Very interesting and informative, Hisano strings all the custom stands at Pearl Paradise. Staying a The Vulcan estate in the Hollywood hills and Tuna Toast Caterers who out did themselves with their cullanary skills made this a wonderful three day escape from reality. Sunday we got to view the vault at PP and try on anything. Jeremy taught me how to drill pearls on his drill. Very fun.

I had a hard time getting signed up at Pearl Guide and finally had to have the owner let me in. The moderator gets hundreds of people and scammers trying to join. She thought my odd name I was signing in as was not real and denied me until the owner let me in.

Hope this helps.

Re: Pearl Paradise Color-shifting Freshwater metallic strand

Finally some pics of my silver pink metallics - I am really loving these pearls! The more I look at them, the more I see different undertons and colours.

Re: Pearl Paradise Color-shifting Freshwater metallic strand

A few more shots - comments welcomed! I am very pleased with these beauties. Now the hard part is reining in the urge to buy more pearls! They don't show the colour as well as in real life - there is a much pinker glow happening.

Re: Pearl Paradise Color-shifting Freshwater metallic strand

The pearl earrings were in a separate box - I am glad I bought matching earrings - the colours change to taupe, pink, lavender, silver - they are so beautiful, and they just get more beautiful every day!

Re: Pearl Paradise Color-shifting Freshwater metallic strand

Lovely pearls. I know what you mean by pictures not really capturing the colors of these pearls. There is no way to capture all the overtones. Changelings are what they are. I am sure you have more of these in your future especially when you start with the best like these.

Re: Pearl Paradise Color-shifting Freshwater metallic strand

I have a wish list - I really like the blue Akoyas and would like a strand of those. I will be needing a bracelet so *I* can admire the pearls - and a pair of studs are a basic classic which I (surprisingly) do not have yet. I am going to Mexico in December and hope to pick up a Sea of Cortez pearl as well. This forum has been a wealth of information and a feast for the senses!

Re: Pearl Paradise Color-shifting Freshwater metallic strand

Has anyone heard what Pearl Paradise's October special is going to be? :naughty:

Re: Pearl Paradise Color-shifting Freshwater metallic strand

Eloise, those are gorgeous pearls! Congratulations!

Re: Pearl Paradise Color-shifting Freshwater metallic strand

EloiseGirl-

What a lovely strand! The earrings you chose are just wonderful. I might have to steal the design :)

Re: Pearl Paradise Color-shifting Freshwater metallic strand

I just combed through the Pearl Paradise website. I had been saving to buy a pink-silver pearl necklace and earrings for my wedding. Is that color now unavailable? I just sent off an email. So sad if that color isn't available anymore. This were going to be my first grown-up pearls. Spare pearl dust appreciated.

Re: Pearl Paradise Color-shifting Freshwater metallic strand

No design to steal - it's the regular white gold setting with two pearls - the setting was $100 in White Gold and the pearls were $25 each. I LOVE them!

Re: Pearl Paradise Color-shifting Freshwater metallic strand

My metallic silver pinks are on their way. 16" necklace and matching french wire earrings. Decided to go with the french wires because I really do like the french wires I have already. (I'm not really good at new things jewelry-wise. I love the dangles EloiseGirl has, so I will probably buy a pair in the future!)

Here is the hank for the necklace. I even have the shipping confirmation already, super excited!
These aren't color shift, but they are metallic, I can move my post if I need to.

Whee! Congratulations on your pearls - be sure to post some neck shots. It's so exciting when you get your box!

Re: Pearl Paradise Color-shifting Freshwater metallic strand

The FedEx tracking site says they are in my city!! Will pressing refresh on the page bring it to the door faster? :appl:

Re: Pearl Paradise Color-shifting Freshwater metallic strand

I totally did that too - I was constantly checking the tracking. It's so exciting!
