Last week, I asked for advice on whether I should have Leon craft a solitaire or 3 stone. After considering all of the advice received from you guys and a variety of other factors, I have decided to go for 3! Now...

Leon has pulled two sets of pears as possible side stones for this ring. One set is .95tcw and the other is .65tcw. Both are E color - the center is a 1.5/round D color. After talking with Leon, I think we both agreed that the .95tcw pears were too big for my tastes and for my center stone. As for the .65tcw, well, I don''t know and I''m here to ask your opinion. Check out the attached picture. Any opinions on whether .65tcw pears are too big, too small, or just right!

Thanks.

If money is no issue, I''d go for the larger pears.

I like the .65 ctw pair of pears shown. I think the .95 might overwhelm the center stone. Do you have a picture of the larger pair of pears next the center stone for comparison?

I don''t think an additional pic will change my mind though...I think the pair of .65 ctw is perfect for your stone!

Something to consider is your ring size.
If you are a 3.75 like me, then they might be too large.
But if you are a size 7, then they are probably fine.
Last weekend, I actually tried on some rings with side pears that were wider than my finger which would not have worked very well.

The ring size is 5.5. She''s a tall lady (5''9") with extremely long, thin fingers.

Unfortunately, I don''t have a pic of the .95tcw...

I think the pears shown are in perfect proportion for side stones and would be beautiful on long-thin fingers....

This is Vatche''s three stone with Pears.
Center 1.5 they match with side Pears of .56-.64 tcw.

I really like these proportions (in your picture), the pears compliment the center without overwhelming it, seems just like the right size.

You know how to find those pretty ring pictures don''t you , Sevens One.....I like those pears on the sides.

Oh, I also like the .65 carat size. Sorry, got caught up in the pictures.

the proportions seem just right....i can''t picture how it would size out on the finger though....
as cflutist said....they can be too big. do you have an idea of what the total width would be once they are set?

I have to say the .65 are just perfect. That''s just about what I have on my ring!!

Sevens, thanks for posting those pics. Very useful in helping me visualize the size.

Kaliegh, your 3stone is fabulous. Are those claw prongs I see? Beautiful. If mine turns out as nice, I''ll be doing backflips. What ring size are you by the way? I also like how the basket or bar (I''m not sure what it''s called) that connects the prongs on your center stone is thin and set lower, closer to the culet than the girdle of the center stone.

I don''t know what the width across all three stones would be - I hope it would be equal to or less than the size 5.5 finger. Hmm....

These guys look great !

... although I couldn''t say I hate the larger sides either

Hi Mukul

i like the first picture with the .65 pears. The 2 pears are in good proportion with the center stone. I think the existing stones would look great in a ring..

I love pear side stones with a round center. Beautiful!!! I think the proportion of the 0.65 ctw is very good. It still sets of the main stone very well. Personally, I''m not a fan of 3-stone rings where all 3 stones are of close proportions. I like the center stone to have much larger proportion than the sides.

I also like the smaller side stones. They look more in proportion with the center than the larger ones do. What a beautiful ring she is going to have- lucky girl!!! Cant wait to see the finished product!!!

I agree, I think the smaller, .65tcw, sides will look great. As always, I really do appreciate the feedback!

In case anyone is still reading, I have at least one more question: I want the ring to be as delicate and not bulky or clunky as possible, given this 3 stone design. Is there anything in particular that I should tell Leon to make that happen? Ie: the prongs, the bar connecting the prongs, etc. Just curious...

What did you go for in the end, did she say yes, and can we see pics?!!

I''m in need of an LM fix.........
