I've been stalking baroque akoyas online for the past two weeks.
Today I walked into a pawn shop and there they were, just waiting for me! Such a coincidence!
They are 8 mm, silvery and have a very nice luster. The length is 15".
The weird thing is that it converts into two bracelets! There are two screw-like connections.
They need restrung really bad, so I'll be doing that soon.
I only paid $30, so I'm very happy!

Great find, thanks for sharing!

What a bargain
And a new happy home for those pearls !

Wow! Amazing find! Especially since you’ve been searching for them!!
Beautiful and what versatility!! Enjoy!

Love love love those!!!

Gorgeous! They look perfect on you and I love the serendipity of your story. How perfect. Those invisible clasps are fabulous too. How fun to wear it two ways :)

They look great. Those connectors are wild! Will the interfere with restringing?

Wow those connectors are very unique. Just curious how do you know that are akoyas but not coated or treated pearls? Thanks

Yeah, maybe.
The male and female ends of the threaded connectors are probably brass. They are glued into each end pearl.
The string is glued into the opposite end of the pearl, in a smaller hole.
So I will have to remove the string, and maybe ream out the hole in order to glue a fresh piece of string. I have size 2 bead string that I think will work.

I've been researching baroque akoyas for a few weeks, and I looked
at lots and lots of them online so I would be sure when I spotted a strand.
Also, on the ends, where the connectors are attached, they have been filed flat just a bit. Looking with the loupe, the flat cross section area is silver gray just like the outside of the pearl.
You can see those areas a little bit in the photos I posted above.

Your so clever =)2

I restrung them, because I really hated that screw clasp. And I would probably never wear it as a bracelet.
I made a basic hook closure from sterling wire and attached a little FW pearl to the end of the chain.
This project got sidelined when my cat chewed off and swallowed the end of the silk cord and the wire needle before I was finished!
But it came out in the end o_O , and all is well, both the cat and the necklace.

Beautiful necklase !
Very releaved to hear the kitty was ok
A bit too scary

Thank goodness our moggies seem to prefer food over dangerouse objects

OMG I was so worried until the last sentence when you let us know kitty is okay. Whew! That must have been scary for you.

You did a wonderful job in creating your necklace. The pearls are wonderful and I love how you incorporated an extender chain with a super cute keshi pearl. So nicely done!

Thanks MM! By now, you know that I am all about bargains! I am really happy with the way they turned out.
