Hello, we have just purchased an emerald cut diamond and in the appraisal, it states that the pavillion angle is 40. prior to purchase we had looked and decided that we wanted a diamond with an excellent cut, so we selected one that had a table of 63 and a depth of 68. we thought it would be near perfect. unfortunately, the pavillion angle was not stated. now we looked on the internet and it says that the angle should be 32-34. did we mess up? please help!!!
Would you mind giving me an example of caculating the estimate pavilion depth % from total depth % and crown depth? Is it as simple as "total depth - crwon depth = pavilion depth"?
"you can estimate pavilion depth % from recomended total depth% and crown depth%. It's somewhere 43%-50% for 2A class."
Thanks!
