Pave diamonds in ring head

Hey all,

I know there's a lot of problems with pave/micropave diamonds falling out when they're part of the band. I'm looking at getting pave diamonds on the head with a clean band (see picture below). Would the pave diamonds be more secure and less likely to fall out since any resizing wont affect the head? Or will it change the head? Also, I'm trying to get the little diamonds as secure as possible without having giant prongs visible. I've heard of micro prong and shared prong...how do those compare to pave/micropave? Thanks!!!

The likelihood of pave falling out from anywhere on a ring is mainly going to be due to how well constructed the ring is, and how delicate (or not) you can be with it. One of my favorite settings has pave on the head like the example you gave, the Vatche Caroline: http://www.whiteflash.com/engagement-rings/solitaire/caroline-solitaire-engagement-ring-by-vatche-251.htm I haven't read anything on PS about people losing the stones from the heads of their rings, but if you give your ring a good whack on something, I'm sure it could happen.
