I've been looking at a wide pave diamond band at Tiffany's. It's 3.30 cts in total weight and very expensive - $11k. Is this the sort of ring that another jeweler could make for much less, but with the same quality? If so, who?! Thanks for the help.

Yes it is.
If you want the very best effect then what we do is select all our diamonds with an idea-scope so they are brighter and they also weigh less.
You will find that even the Tiffany stones have around a 50:50 rejection rate using this criteria.
There would be plenty of B&M stores that would make a nice ring of this type for you.
If you can find one who will buy an Ideal-scope and select the diamonds for you (and insist they are set very close together) then you will get a blow away effect.
Be sure to have a fitting before the diamonds are set - these rings can not be resized!

This man claims to do excellent pave work: http://moediamonds.com/

Try to choose a jeweler who is talented in this area. Ask for examples of their pave work.

Good luck :)
