Well the woman I was working with is not in yet and the guy I talked to seemed hesitant about the WG palladium blend that I want. So he recommended the Palladium without gold. A few questions if anyone reads this. Do you think it will generally be as equally respected as the other options in an Engagement ring, or will it be viewed as "cheap"

I have read that the Victors hardness rates it lower than WG, yet it is supposed to be more pliable. It seems to me that this would create more petina build up--which I don''t want--and could cause it to warp in a 2.2 mm band. any thoughts on that?

palladium will wear similar to platinum. It will get patina, but can be easily polished. I wouldn''t worry too much about durability issues. One thing I would keep in mind is the color. It''s a much darker grey color than WG and not everyone likes the color.

I was thinking that it might could be plated in rhodium, thus removing the patina effect until after the rhodium plating wears off, and also meaning that as the rhodium wears off there is a white gray color underneath, making it even more difficult to discern between the two?

For anyone wondering, the person I spoke with (my rep is sick today so I couldn't get information from her) has said that yes, the rhodium plating will, naturally, mask the patina. And that as far as she knows it should wear off similarly to how it would wear off on white gold. And naturally as it wears off the color underneath will be a white/silver color--though hot noticable that difference will be only time can tell, but in the most common to rub locations I imagine that it would really create more of a different sheen than anything else. I will probably get it brought to me and take it to a jeweler to compare to Rhodium plated white gold and determine whether to have it done or not then. I'll post my findings here later, so hopefully that will help someone in the future, but if anyone has any words suggestions please let me know!
